Decs Childcare Schools
Our center provides child care for children 6 weeks through school age using the High Scope Philosophy. The philosophy behind High/Scope, is that children should be involved actively in their own learning. They "learn by doing", often working with hands on materials and carrying out projects of their own choosing.

The adults working with the children as partners in learning rather than supervisors. In the classroom different areas, or centers, are designated for different activities: sand/water play, reading, science, art, writing, dramatic play, and blocks. An important part of the High/Scope approach is the plan-do-review sequence.
Services
Our infant program focuses on developmental stages. Helping the children develop at there own pace. We allow for the infants to explore their world in a safe nurturing environment. Teachers provide support and guide the infants as the learn how to lift their head, roll over, crawl, pull themselves up and eventually learn to walk.
We currently service students from Clark Creek in Cherokee County as well as Allatoona Elementary in Bartow County. Our after school program includes a snack, up to an hour of homework time, outside time, and center time play. We have an enrichment hour on Fridays, where the students learn about Science, Social Studies or enjoying creative cooking.
Since we believe that children learn best by pursuing their personal interests and goals, children in High/Scope settings are encouraged to make choices about materials and activities throughout the day. As they pursue their choices and plans, children explore, ask and answer questions, solve problems, and interact with classmates and adults.
This school is absolutely amazing. Every child there is happy. My daughter asks to go to school when she gets home in the evenings because she loves it so much. The staff is so impressive and loves the kids as much as their own. My son has learned so much. He started two months late and they worked with him.
When your child qualifies for free and reduce lunch, it help the school receive additional money to provide a better more healthy option for breakfast, snacks, and lunch. We are able to purchase more fresh fruits and vegetable and offer a larger variety of foods. The participation in the food program allows us to keep our tuition rates down and eliminate all food fees for the Georgia PreK program.

Amazing childcare! My son has been going for about a month so far and he has already learned so much. He shows me dances to songs, signs more sign language to me, he tries to talk more (he is 19 months old), and he’s so happy!!

They told me my daughter can not come back to Decs because she is sleepy when she arrives to school at 7am. Julia at the front desk has anger issues shacking, she was so mad bc I asked for money back due to her kicking a 3 year old out of school on Thursday morning. She told me she can not check my daughter to she if she has Covid bc she was sleepy.

The infant teachers are wonderful, they try the best that they can do to take care of your child. The director takes on way to many babies for these women to care for, which leads to your child not being properly cared for. In my opinion all the children are looked at as dollar signs to the owner. She has every excuse in the book if you come to her with a problem concerning your child. Management is a complete disappointment. I would not recommend this place to any parents looking for childcare. When myself and other parents are saying your child will be behind in developing. PLEASE BELIEVE it

My son has been here since he was 4 months old. All the teachers are great and take great care of my son. They provide a daily report on how the day went. I have never had a problem with anyone there. Great daycare.

We have sent all four of our kiddos there, and we couldn't have made a better decision. We we're actually referred to the daycare from an assistant principal at Clark Creek. She explained to me that the most well rounded kids she saw in kindergarten came from DECS- no joke. I was very skeptical, but I respected what this professional told me and decided to give it a shot. They provide structure, have a huge shadded yard for the kids to play in- and the playground is hidden from the main busy road, and very low employee turnover.
The breakfasts and lunches are healthy and fulfilling. The camp field

Very disappointed with the school. Management doesn't listen to concerns that parents have. They always have some excuse to give. I would not recommend this place to anybody. They have a I DON'T CARE ATTITUDE.
Extremely chaotic atmosphere and very rude management.
They would leave kids unattended and if anything happens they blame it on you that your kid is not a good fit.

TRIGGER WARNING!!!
DO NOT USE THIS CHILDCARE SCHOOL.
There far too many children enrolled at this school- I'm sure well past what the government would allow based on the amount of supervision present.
My nephew was neglected and starved while attending. The pediatrician put him on a regimented feeding program for weight gain because he was underweight. AND THEY STILL FAILED TO FEED HIM PROPERLY. The teachers are doing what they can but are overwhelmed and lack resources. My nephew is also developmentally behind, nearly a year old and still cannot crawl, being there 40+ hours per week I would

I have nothing but great things to say about Decs. Yes, it's an older building but it is very safe and the teachers are amazing. My daughter's teacher is wonderful as well. She is stern (but in a nice way) at times, yet loving at the same time. My little one loves going to school every day! The price is not too bad, either. I feel very confident sending her there every day. I also feel very welcome when I go to the school to visit or pick her up.
EDIT - We are still using DECS but now mainly for their summer day camp and the after school program sporadically during the school year. We still love

We have used DECS for drop-in childcare for about two years and are very pleased with the staff and care provided. My kids especially love Ms. Kathy!
