The story of YOGA in COMMON is not over yet. In fact, it's just beginning. The idea is that people from many walks of life come together, meet up "in common" on the mat, and practice yoga. Whether you are brand-new to yoga or a seasoned yogi makes no difference.
The fact is, we are finding each other and spending time in classes together where teachers help us to bring our awareness to being present, to reaching beyond, and to working our bodies to our personal "edge" for that day.The YOGA in COMMON mission is to raise awareness of and participation in yoga along the Grand Strand from North Myrtle Beach to Pawleys Island.

Finally, I want to take this opportunity to thank Linda, Carolyn and all of the wonderful instructors at Yoga In Common. I relocated here a year ago from Washington, D.C. and Yoga In Common is one of the main reasons I love living in Myrtle Beach. I pray you and your families stay safe during this pandemic and thank you for making me feel safe.
Reiki is a holistic energy healing practice. Rei means universal and Ki refers to our life force. Reiki is done fully clothed while the Practitioner places their hands in a series of positions on the body to activate healing energy. Reiki balances the body from a deep center level allowing energy to flow freely.
Please observe the following guidelines to help create and maintain a safe and peaceful space in which to practice yoga. Once a yoga class starts, no latecomers can come in as it disrupts the peace and calm being set by the teacher. You may be asked to attend another class if you arrive too late. Refrain from wearing perfumes or musk oils to class.

We are blessed to have this beautiful yoga studio in Market Common. The owner has the most beautiful soul. The instructors are great. They offer so many classes and events throughout the day. I saw the previous negative review by Robert Ashby and had to leave my review. As a resident in Market Common, I've been going to this studio for 10 years and can tell immediately everything he said is completely a made up story. Give it a try to this yoga studio if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed.

I was down in Myrtle beach for a week and it consisted of laying on the beach and eating. By day two I felt gluttonous. I mean it was preposterous. Dinners consisted of insane amounts of appetizers, salads, soups, then entrees, dessert at the restaurant and then GOING TO KIRKS FOR ICE CREAM AFTERWARDS! It was truly gross. I tried workout the gym in my building a few times but the equipment was trash. When someone suggested yoga I almost did a backflip in excitement. Anything to help my physical and spiritual well-being and keep me from eating I welcomed lol. We booked a class and my entire vacation

I signed up for an unlimited month while I was in Myrtle Beach on summer vacation and I am worried that YIC has ruined me for all other yoga studios. The location is so convenient with tons of parking and the studio is clean, quiet and comfortable. I took classes with 5 different instructors and they were all great in their own unique ways. I can't wait to go back next summer, I cannot recommend it enough!

I signed up for the first timer deal which is currently unlimited yoga for your first month for $50. This is a steal! The shop in front is beautiful and the yoga classes are really great. I've taken several of the classes so far and have loved all of them...
Forest Yoga with Jo was one of the harder classes. It really worked my core and was an awesome workout. I'm still sore. I've also enjoyed a few of the Vinyasa Flow classes and the Stretch and Strengthen/Recharge classes. I attempted the Yin yoga which was great for stretching out and just feeling really good with relaxed muscles

Yoga in Common is my favorite place in Myrtle Beach. No matter what type of day I’ve been having, I step through door and soothing scents plus crafts and artwork of local artisans surround me. I feel my entire body relax. Either Linda, the owner, or staff greet me by name. I feel welcomed! There are two well-equipped studios with bamboo floors and lots of props. The yoga instructors are very well trained and carefully observe each student seeing how your body can realistically move-and give you opportunities to push yourself in a healthy, constructive way. They are approachable, open to questions

This studio was a major disappointment, although the staff is friendly and welcoming it all feels very fake, forced and not very yogic. The energy was cold and uninviting. This studio felt like the fast food restaurant of yoga studios and I did on more than one occasion hear it referred to as the McDonald's of the yoga world. The studio owner is a bully not only to her staff but also to her clients. I once witnessed her placing her mat over the top of a clients mat because that was "her space" this happened to be a new client and it made her very uncomfortable. When the yoga instructor approached

Stopped in with a friend this morning for Jennifer's 9:30 strength and strengthen class. The studio is spacious, and light streams in from full length glass windows over and around muted curtains. Cubbies are adequate for personal belongings, and props are ample. My friend has been taking yoga classes for several months and I for 5 years, although I consider my skill level "terrible". The class advertised itself as appropriate for all levels and it was. Jennifer's poses ranged from the very easy to the very difficult. She had a very skilled but comfortable teaching style that

Cannot speak for the yoga itself (yet), but I wanted to write a review for the yoga shop. The woman working there was super friendly and knowledgable about the merchandise. I ended up buying some local handmade jewelry (which they have a great selection of). There is also original art work, apparel, and incense among other items.
After I paid, I received my receipt via email and had a note from them offering to order a shirt I saw for my daughter (but not in her size in store) that I mentioned I liked.
Loved looking around in there! A great addition to the Market Common shopping scene. And now

I was looking for an intermediate class early one Thursday morning while I was in town and found it!
They offer a discount for teachers, students and military people so that was a nice surprise helping take the sting out of a drop in rate while on vacation.
Either bring the blinders or your wallet because there have a cute little boutique with all sorts of things to buy in the front of the store.
And the props- plenty of props to use!
