Hohenwald is proud of its Swiss heritage, and as you stroll the downtown area you'll notice multiple sites of interest within a few blocks of Meriwether's Retreat. A jewel of the National Park System, the Natchez Trace Parkway runs from Nashville to Natchez, Mississippi. At one time it was a commerce route as well as a means for river boat crews to return to Nashville overland after completing their runs down the Mississippi.

Meriwether's Retreat is within walking distance of a variety of dining options. Whether it's a burger and crazy shake at Hank's Diner, a fine steak at The Junkyard Dog, or some enchiladas at Rio Colorado, you'll find almost anything with a 1-2 block walk.

I love Louis's Room because it's cozy and quaint, just like our little town. Louis's Suite is on the first floor, and right off the front porch where you have full use of the rocking chairs. Come get a feel of the past with the black and white photographs of former immigrants who built this town. Enjoy some of Baker Deb's delicious homemade fare, and relax, friends.
