Western Web
Western Web opened in 2005 with new, state-of-the-art equipment, great people and a passion for excellence in print production. Fueled by the quality requirements of our start up daily newspaper, we invested in the latest equipment in pre-press and press. Sadly, the newspaper fell victim to the economy and closed in 2008.

Western Web continued. On April Fool's Day 2010 Steve purchased the assets and formed Western Web, Inc. The initial investment, combined with our talented crew of craftspeople and our top down commitment to producing the best possible work has positioned us as the quality leader in our region. We aren't just producing good work, we are setting the standard for commercial newspaper and publication printing.
Services
In the Summer of 2005 Steve was hired to set up a state of the art printing plant so The Eureka Reporter could print daily. Western Web was a dba we used in order to sneak up on potential customers out of our area without the burden of explaining why it made sense to print in Eureka. Now, with our reputation firmly established and our distribution network all over the region in place, we don't need to be sneaky.
Steve was instrumental in connecting the recycling company Smurfit with Greenpeace on a breakthrough program to turn rice straw into newsprint in the 90's. He was pushing recycled news in the 80's, even though customers were pushing back.

He met with First Nation natives in Canada, met with BC Ministry of Forests, toured Clayquot Sound, spoke with Robert Kennedy Jr., all players in the Clayquot Sound controversy at the heart of Canadian logging practices. He toured the Silviculture experimental forest where BC Ministry of Forests worked with mills regarding alternative harvests.
