The area is beautiful and the apartments are great. Management is very responsive to concerns, repairs are done in a timely manner, rent/fees are transparent and easy to pay, and my current rent is pretty competitive with the market. Absolutely would recommend, and plan to stick around here for several more years assuming annual rent increases are manageable.

Dishonest management.
I requested a quote on how much our rent would increase. I requested this because I had my wedding and honeymoon coming up and could not look for new apartments if the increase was too much. I needed to know ahead of time.
Lafayette Oaks Management told me it would not increase by more than 2-3%.
When lease renewal time came, in the middle of my wedding and honeymoon, they increased our rent by 7%. We were forced to sign for a new year because we were not about to cancel our honey moon to shop for apartments.
If you do not like being flat out lied to and manipulated by

We had several electrical issues at this place. The ac wall unit is routed for 220V instead of the American 120V which added to our pg&e bill. The wiring is also routed to one breaker, our power went out several times. They turned off the water without informing the building, it's really hard to contact maintenance since the voicemail is disconnected. During covid we still had to pay for the amenities (pool/gym) even though we weren't allowed to use them. Also it's a poor remodel, the tub was peeling, handles were loose, the flooring was loose and the foundation is uneven. Pot

PRT ONE: The Neighborhood. I love the living environment at Lafayette Oaks. To start, extremely friendly neighbors that become friends. Beautiful swimming pool and jaccuzi - nice lenght and depth (and if it gets cold, just plunge, your body will warm up quickly even in Winter!)
PART TWO: The Location gorgeous location: Walking distance to preschool, bike shop, eateries, supermarket, BART! - it made my second car redundant....... Not to mention the best school district in Bay Area!
PART THREE: The Management. Very good management: fast to respond, diligent in upkeep of facilities, and fixes any

Here is my final update for Lafayette Oaks. We are finally moving out after being there since 2013. At first it was great as you saw from my previous reviews. Most recently in the last 2 years it has suffered. Customer service is horrible. The office is only open maybe 2 times a week and you are lucky to get a return phone call or e-mail. They only respond when there is a maintenance request. I had to request to get a lower rent rate in 2017, since they tried to hike it up another $200. Typical rent raise each year is $100-$200 a month. I am not sure if it is like that with all apartment complexes

I never lived here, but I wanted to go se an apartment recently for rent. When I went at the APPOINTMENT time, there nobody there! And they didn't answer their phone either. I took the afternoon off from work to go meet the leasing agent and they didn't even bother to show up or have the courtesy to cancel the appointment. I called multiple times and it went to voicemail, I just got frustrated and left. If this is how they are before renting, I wouldn't trust them to help me if I have any issues after renting.

Speak to Laurie the apartment manager for any questions. Rents are expensive here and they raise them almost every year. But, they keep it clean and there's a workout room, pool and hot tub!
My twin sisters and I decided to move to Lafayette for her little boy since the schools are some of the best in the country. Being a city girl at heart moving to the burbs as a single with no kids was quite the adjustment. When we first moved her we were about a 1/2 mile away from central Lafayette and that was too far for me since I am used to having everything I want outside my doorstep. So we decided

We moved out last September after living there for a year. Overall, our experience was good, but there are a few negatives I will share. We rented one of their larger 2 bd, 1.5 ba units with a little front yard. The yard was perfect for our little dog.
The reason we left was strictly business. The owner insisted on a 10% rental increase for our renewal. After talking to my neighbors, it looks like this increase was across the whole complex. Although completely legal with no rent control, this was a rediculously insulting amount to me.
The other reason we moved is NUBS (Northwestern Utility

Wow. I was pretty surprised to read the previous review. After reading it, I felt compelled to stick up for this little apartment community.
My apartment is a one-bedroom right next to the creek that runs through the area. It is amazing to hear the creek running and see such beautiful nature, especially after spending a long day in the concrete jungle of downtown SF. People in Lafayette are especially nice, and I really like my neighbors - they're quiet and polite.
There's also a pool (unheated), jacuzzi (heated, quasi-small deck area with a BBQ, a fitness room and small sauna.

Alright well let me start by saying that I'm shocked no one wrote a review about this place. I will try to make this review as short but insightful as possible.
My girlfriend and I lived here for one year. When we took the tour, we were wowed by the clean pool and the patio with a bbq for the residents to use. We signed a contract and moved on in.
After being slapped with late fees despite verbal permission from the joke of a manager and with out any clear definition in our lease regarding when late fees were due and how that would be handled, we were more than a little unhappy at the late
