In a word, this place SUCKS.
The floorboards always squeak, faucets require constant repair, loud tapping sounds come from the walls for unknown reasons during the winter, the dumpster area is always filthy, the washing machines always break down, and there are no real amenities here that make it worth paying $2,000 or more a month for an apartment that's only 500 sq. ft. with razor thin walls just for the "privilege" in living in Walnut Creek - which is a town that's slowly declining anyway. To top it all off, Alterra has the nerve to raise the rent in February 2022!

Current and future residents beware! There were multiple issues with this place, and I’m glad we got out. Here are a few of the issues we had:
1. They kept $350 from our deposit for “professional cleaning”. When we asked why, they just sent pictures of dust and lone hairs around the apartment. I’ve attached some pictures they sent. Admittedly we did forget to clean the oven, but $350 for cleaning the oven and light dusting is ridiculous. When I tried to contact the “cleaning company”, they never answered the phone or responded to email. AND GET THIS: THE ADDRESS FOR THE CLEANING COMPANY

Dangerous apartments with aggressive management. Unsafe property with multiple break-ins. Shortly after signing a lease all visitor parking was removed, monthly permits are now $150. Management hasn't been onsite in months and is very hostile and unprofessional in all communications to residents. For the high price I expected a safer environment, fewer burglaries, and mgmt that treats you like a human being.

No parking for guests. This is the newest. Took away all the parking spaces ( a few they had for guests). Now, you have to park on the street and I found bright green labels on vehicles.
ITS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS driving out of their apartment complex. Vehicles always parked on the street doesn't allowed you to see incoming traffic from the bottom on the hill.
I'm not sure about people who are giving more than 4 stars live at this address or had spend at least one night at this place.
- Old apartment complex
- Spiders in the rooms
- outside may look nice, but there's a lot of noise from the

Best decision ever made was moving out! Laura the front Mgr, if anything was wrong I would not even want to say anything b/c I knew I'd have to deal with her and it was zero zero service for customer or tenant. lived there way to long and spent way to much $ for the grievance., the new group that purchased is a joke they are currently there rn and when I'd call to mention any of the 100 problems I had from mice, rats, noise, parking, water leakage, mold, to the service of their management was no cares giving. Please if you are considering do yourself a favor, anywhere else is better anywhere

If you're looking for a cheap place to stay that's within walking distance of downtown Walnut Creek and not too far from the 680, 4, and 242 freeways or BART, then this is the place to be. Otherwise, don't bother looking here. Here are ten reasons why.
1. We've have had FOUR different managers here over the last two years - including one who was a temp. The managerial turnover is incredible. Luckily, I've been able to have a good, professional relationship with previous managers, but this new manager is the worst. Nobody knows who she is and very few have seen her

I have read some of these previous reviews and seems too extreme on the negative to me. I lived here 18 months.
I read reviews everywhere looking for a WC place, hope mine helps you.
Yes, the garbage cans are full but usually only on the wknds , when everyone mass dumps their trash. The property manger Neolani I never got to know so well but Pamela does a great job of making herself available. She has been there a year now. When I needed assistance with plumbing, extending my stay, lost keys, she did it all including emptying my mail of coupons for a bit while had to go away for a family emergency

I am leaving this negative review because of the terrible treatment I had with the manager, Noelani. I understand that Hall Equities Group tells her what to do and they basically screw everyone out of their deposit but I literally left my apartment in better condition than when I moved in! I was told by many other residents that moved out that they ALWAYS take your deposit no matter what. That is crazy to me if you took care of your home and cleaned. I would NOT recommend living in any properties owned by Hall Equities Group.

What a horrible place to live! A rip off as well.
Thin walls, NO utilities included, sloppy managers overlooking expenses and accounts.
Parking space was changed without notice therefore my car was towed. Utilities are divided by residents not by usage. Such high tenant turnover with no sense of community.
The rent keeps going up which they justify because more and more people are moving to the east bay. I lived here for a year and a half and after moving out money was taken from my deposit to pay for wear and tear cleaning.
What a joke!
Don't live here!!!
