Are you looking for taekwondo, karate lessons, or korean martial arts? Many people ask what the difference is - taekwondo vs karate. Although they come from two different countries, taekwondo and karate schools teach very similar techniques. The main difference is that taekwondo has more kicking techniques and higher kicks.

We feel it is very important to give our young people the opportunity to learn about leadership. High belts are given a chance to help instruct classes by leading the warmup and holding the pads for students. They also guide our students through the forms. Through this opportunity, they learn how to lead others in a patient manner, how to teach in a way that others will understand, and how to adapt to different scenarios.
1. Visit the school to observe a class and ask the staff if you or your child can take a free trial lesson. 2. Ask the members and parents how long they have been at the school, how they like it, what they like about it and how it has affected them or their child.
3. Find out the background of the instructors - how long have they been practicing and studying martial arts, do they have a degree in martial arts or physical education and are they a certified instructor.4. The school should offer a world recognized black belt. It should not come from that school but from an organization such as the World Taekwondo Federation.

I received my first degree black belt from KLS five years ago and my younger brother is in the process of getting his now. I had a very positive experience during my time there. Taekwondo has positive effects on students in middle and high school and can build confidence in younger children and even older adults.
As head instructor Mr. Seo is enthusiastic about his practice and a wonder with his students. He is always kind and brings out the best in his pupils. I highly recommend KLS for parents seeking to get their kids involved in something they can do to make friends and work towards a goal
