We have had the absolute worst experience with D.R. Horton when it comes to them following through with completing final walkthrough punch list and 10-day post-close items. We’ve been in our home for 4 months now and still have a list of items they have not addressed. No one will answer numerous emails sent or phone calls. We built a brand new home with another builder in late 2019 and had ZERO issues like this with the other builder. I’m at my wits end with D.R. and urge others to steer clear of them if you ever want a completed product.

Friend purchased a house from DR Horton and has had nothing but issues with the house, with customer service, and there warranty department.

I find my house to be well built. I've remodeled my houses in the past and added additions, etc, so I know the build process and what quality is. There are little things I have seen from my Horton house, but nothing major.
This issue is with their Customer Support department. They are frequently non-responsive. They don't know what customer service entails. They don't know how to give an email on status. I have waited weeks and then had to send them an email. They give just lip service. Then Heidi asks for all 10's on the follow up survey!! Appointments made to make you think finally your issue

Warranty follow up can be done ONLY ONE WAY! 1. Wait a loooooong time 2. After A wait a several months, have to make a call to complaint. I waited 6months( I understood their busy schedule) and my first move in warranty was the same way chase them down several times, no shows, coming at when ever they want to come.. Things they said, they will do they didn't but I tolerated for several months ) 3.. No communication, or update on when they are gonna come. Only way to get their attention is wait several months and complaint then they listen. This office has 3.0 reviews and it explains it. Not to

We bought our home 3 years ago in Firestone. There have been so many issues that I'm still finding with the house. Cheapest labor bought. My yard was filled with fill dirt instead of top soil for grass that never came in. I fought with the warranty department for 2 years before they finally did anything. I was told that this is what golf courses do to maintain the course.
During our 1 year warranty, I spoke with 3 different individuals that were assigned to my area and always had to start over with claims. We didn't get a finished basement and it was a wet summer when our house was built so there

I'd give a zero today if I could. DR Horton accepted responsibility for a construction defect and now 8 months later I have a sinkhole in my front yard and repairs still have not been scheduled. I will not be buying another DR Horton home and will refer my friends elsewhere.

We also purchased a DR Horton Home. For the most part, I think it is a good home. We do have some warranty items that we are in the process of fixing, however I would like to add that our basement stairs also shake quite a bit as the previous gal stated. When we talked to the warranty people about it, they said it was ok like that, "no one will fall through" and it is not covered under the warranty due to the fact that we did not buy a finished basement. I give them a 3 star for this and other warranty items still in review as we enter our 11th month.

I purchased a DR Horton house in Buckley Ranch in May of 2014.
I had standing water in my back yard immediately after I moved in. The warranty dept. came out 4 (or 5/ i lost track) times to try and fix it as cheaply as possible. I had 2 contractors that I paid for myself come out and confirm that I need a french drain and re-grading or that I might have flooding and structural damage from the run-off in my yard and the 2 yards directly behind me. DR Horton says this is not needed. They said I would just have to tolerate some puddles in my yard and put in rocks to camouflage the puddles.
I have

We purchased a condo in Thorncreek Village in Thornton.
The worst craftsmanship ever ! Poorly designed and built. The HOA is suing DR Horton for millions to fix the numerous problems with all of the units the haphazardly slapped together.
Crooked walls, Numerous leaks, Windows that are falling apart, frozen pipes, sinking driveways.
Evidently there are numerous lawsuits by many different HOA's for the same reason.
DO NOT BUY DR HORTON. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
