Tradition is important to New Orleanians, and with origins reaching back to the 1890's the John J. Hainkel, Jr. Home and Rehabilitation Center is steeped in tradition. Located in the historical uptown district just one block off of Magazine Street, our center sits on an entire city block not far from Audubon Park.
Our beautiful courtyard entices not only residents, who enjoy the peaceful setting, but also people from the community. Visitors may find children trick or treating or hunting Easter eggs or Mardi Gras krewes parading through the courtyard and building. New Orleanians are passionate about our food and so is John J. Hainkel, Jr.

Services
Home and Rehabilitaiton Center is part of the CommCare family, a Louisiana non-profit corporation which operates 17 skilled nursing facilities all in the state of Louisiana. We believe that our company is small enough to recognize and support individual needs of each center, yet large enough to bring the resources necessary to continuously improve quality of care.
A team care approach - Our team of health care professionals is led by a licensed administrator and includes our medical director, nurse practitioner, consultant pharmacist and consultant dietician. From the director of nursing and our rehabilitation staff, to the activity director and social worker, our staff works to address the special needs of each individual.
Home and Rehabilitaiton Center still provides traditional long term care, many individuals who turn to us for care, complete the rehabilitation - physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy - that they need to gain strength and endurance to return home successfully. Our fully-equipped rehabilitation gym is staffed by physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists.
We are committed to giving our employees only the very best, providing not only competitive salaries and wages, but also a large selection of benefits. Qualifications: Assists the Maintenance Director with the maintenance and repairs of the building. Qualifications: Current Louisiana Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
As a non-profit organization, part of CommCare's mission is education and outreach. We welcome you to use the resources in our library to get information on topics facing elders and their families. Resources in our library range from information conditions and illnesses that may affect elders, ways in which we address these conditions, as well as information concerning Medicare or Medicaid benefits.
