After graduate school, I was a school social worker for more than a decade. My focus was on children of all ages and developmental levels/challenges and their families. Later, I began a home organization business, The Confidential Organizer, combining home organizing with social work. In this capacity, I began working with adults with mental clutter, chronic disorganization and ADD/ADHD.
Currently, my practice is client and goal focused. We explore the past, present and future. When solutions are not possible, the goal is to enhance one's coping skills. My therapeutic approach is not the traditional construct in a number of ways. Sessions are personalized and non medical in feeling.

Parenting Support, Coaching and Skills Training for Children with or without Disabilities. Parenting can be wonderfully fulfilling and at the same time frustrating and confusing.
Whether your child, no matter their age, is developing normally or is developing atypically, a child with ADHD, autism or a learning disability, parents can use support to express and work through feelings regarding their child or children and at the same time receive help with solving problems around their child's challenges.

At this time, I do not accept any other insurance plans. If you have out of network benefits, I am happy to give you an invoice that you can submit to your insurance company. If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment and have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
Do think about where in your home you want to meet. Which room? Is there privacy for us to talk about? If you are comfortable, there can be others in the home, but we will need a space that will be quiet and private. Unless we are working directly on parenting skills, do have babysitting for young children, if you feel you will be distracted by your child/children.
I extend At-Home counseling to include your workplace, a place in the community where we can find some privacy or a walk outside. At-Home counseling has a number of benefits. It saves time because you don't have to travel to an office. Many clients find counseling in their home or other location more comfortable because it is a setting they are choosing.

I have used The Confidential Organizer to help me get my entire house in order. I am amazed at how well the owner, Maggie, understood my needs and helped me get through the clutter. My home office was particularly bad, and she just sat down and got all my paperwork in order for me and taught me a system to keep it in order. I keep bringing her back to work on a different part of the house, and I am never disappointed.
