When you get back from the shop or market, take your flowers out of their packaging right away, cut the stems and put the blooms in fresh warm water. Change the water every three days, clean out your vase with bleach and put a small drop of bleach in the water to kill any bacteria. When changing the water, cut the stems on an angle, ideally using a clean, sharp knife.

I had ordered a flower arrangement today for a family members birthday. We received a picture of the arrangement that had been sent oh, it was absolutely gorgeous! It had all Christmas colored flowers and a beautiful red vase.
Jan is absolutely so wonderful on the phone, when you speak to her to order the flowers. She is warm and friendly and so kind. She does beautiful work with the flower arrangements. I would highly recommend Jan's florist shop for anybody's floral needs.

I am in Buffalo and wanted to send my mother whom lives in Saratoga some flowers for her Birthday. I had originally scheduled for Sunday delivery not knowing they aren't open Sundays, however the owner, Jan, had called to inform me she had just stopped at her shop and saw the order and attempted to contact her and would have delivered them. I have ordered flowers by phone in the past, but not anymore.
My mom passed away and a wreath and vase was ordered by the funeral home....flowers showed up 1 1/2 hours LATE, calling hours had already started!!! Plus the whole order wasn't even there! The flowers were sparse, not as full as the pictures shown to us. The excuse was they ran out of flowers due to prom. Unacceptable and I will never use this florist again.

I ordered flowers for a family member who was recovering from surgery. I called to order as in past experience, it's the only way to get your money's worth. I spoke to the namesake owner who was friendly and accommodating. 3 hours later I receive an image of the flowers from family and though nice ones that I specifically asked for were used, they weren't really arranged. Some of the good reviews seem surprising. Only one experience with them. I was working out of a corporate condo in Saratoga and my husband (in Chicago) sent flowers for my birthday...I think the order was referred to Jan's from an online ordering service. Rather than delivering the flowers, they called and left a message. Went right to voice mail when I called back and after several calls, they finally delivered them the next day. This was the first time I used Jan's Florist after using other florists in Saratoga Springs. The quality of the flowers and service was excellent and surpassed the service from other florists. Most professional florists I have ever worked with... called more then once to make.sure everything was perfect, the delivery driver was polite, professional I can't imagine anyone using any other florist, I'm out of state and the person loved the arrangement, , the freshness and kindness of the driver. I recently I ordered flowers for my mothers birthday. They had called and said they didn't have all the flowers for the arrangement I order. So I said as long as it's similar it would be okay. The arrangement looked nothing like the one I ordered, it didn't even have the same vase (a lot of the time I choice the one with a nice vase because you'll always have that). I called Jan from Philly to order flowers for a fall party I was co-throwing up in Saratoga Springs. Jan was so friendly on the phone, I immediately felt like I was talking to a life long friend. The flowers we purchased were beautiful and fresh and the vase arrangements I made ended up looking fantastic! So many people complimented me on the decorations during the whole party. I couldn't have done it without Jan's help.
Her shop is really cute (annnnd painted purple - my FAVORITE color) and all the dried arrangements hanging on the walls & flowers in the display case looked amazing
