Child Development & Learning Center

The Child Development & Learning Center (CDLC) offers a safe, loving Christian environment with respect and support for all children and families. We provide opportunities for each child to define self, understand who they are and discover their role within the community. CDLC has a 4-star Parent Aware rating, the highest rating awarded.

CDLC is blessed with a wonderful, caring group of education professionals with years of experience, consisting of teachers, aides and administrators. All of our staff members are certified in CPR and first aid. Marie became the Director at CDLC in July of 2015.

Marie has Bachelor of Science degrees in Family and Child Development from Mankato State University, Elementary Education and Kindergarten from Winona State University and Early Childhood Education from the College of St. Catherine.Marie has two grown children. She is an avid card maker, seamstress, gardener and Minnesota Wild fan.

Children are escorted to and from the building at the beginning and end of each day. After being escorted in, each class follows a set schedule to cover the following interest centers. Indoor and outdoor areas are available to work with children in building large motor skills according to the appropriate developmental level.

The child will be able to distinguish between inside and outside voices. The child will be able to name other fruits and vegetables that are red, green and yellow. Classify by red, green and yellow. Loud, soft, bigger, smaller, inside voice, outside voice, open, shut. The child will be able to see and taste the likenesses and differences between red and green apples.

Your child's health is of major importance to us all. The state health department mandates that before a child can be enrolled in our program his immunization record must on file in our office. An HIB vaccination is required for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. Children arriving the first day without such must be taken home.
