I love what I do. After many years as a therapist, I still look forward to meeting new clients and working with my current clients each and every day. It is a privilege to navigate life's challenges with you on your journey to reach your personal goals. It is my hope that you will not only feel better about your interactions with others, but also gain a new appreciation for your personal strengths and abilities.

You deserve to be happy. You may be frustrated because you have tried a wide variety of approaches in dealing with these or other issues. I would like to assist you in creating some NEW strategies to solving any obstacles to your happiness. I feel that together we can make some significant improvements and I am anxious to meet you and get started!
Services
I grew up in a small town just south of Chicago. I have lived and worked in many places which, I feel, offered me the opportunity to know and work with diverse populations. I have held administrative/supervisory positions, teaching assignments, and clinical appointments in several different states.
This is an opportunity for you to share with me the areas in your life that you wish were different or better. Chances are that you have been coping with the issue(s) for a while and may just need some strategies or options for a new approach. We will collaborate so that you can leave that first meeting with some workable alternatives.

Marla is an incredible therapist. Not only do I feel heard and understood but I also have action steps to put into practice when I leave each session. Marla is helping me to overcome my anxiety regarding perception, recognize that I struggle with ADD as an undiagnosed 40 year old woman, and work through fears and hesitations I have with medication and multiple sclerosis. She is a perfect mix of empathathy, understanding, and challenge to become a more healthy person (mentally, emotionally and physically). I Would 100% recomend coming to her with anything you are struggling with!

Marla has been my therapist since I was 13 years old. There is no other counselor I would go to. The care and compassion she has for her clients incomparable. She listens to your thoughts and concerns, and makes a plan for you to follow. She is only a phone call away. She has helped me reassure myself that I am on the right path through early adulthood. She has helped me solidify who I am as human, and I will always be grateful for the help she has given me and my family.

If I could give her 10 stars, I would! I highly recommend Marla to anyone that needs a wonderful person to talk with about any life issue. She has helped me so much over the last 2+ years. I am a stronger person and a better Mom! I often ask myself "what would Marla say about this?" which always helps me make a better choice. She is a RockStar!

Marla is a professional therapist who has helped guide me through a number of major life changes. Through her experience and love of counseling, she has directed me to clarify my own problems so that I could choose actions to move forward with a positive hope for the future. She has made me feel comfortable discussing both small and large issues and is available to answer my questions outside of the counseling sessions. I would highly recommend her as a therapist.

I was referred to Marla in 1994 because my 5 year old son was having behavioral issues in school. Marla evaluated him, and worked with us on a parenting plan to assist in resolving those issues. The plan, and tools we learned and used at home worked! That was the beginning of a therapist-client relationship that would span over 20 years. In 1996 I suffered severe anxiety attacks and depression. I chose to see Marla in hopes her experience and professionalism would help see me through this very difficult time. Again, Marla helped me develop the coping skills I would need to get through very difficult
