Peaceful Pathways Montessori
In a world of rapid change and new discoveries, your child will need to adapt to change and learn entirely new skills throughout his or her life. Today's essential lesson is learning how to learn. The most important years in your child's education are not high school and college, but the first twelve years of life.

This is when your child's character and values, self-image, basic skills and knowledge, and appreciation for culture and arts are formed. Peaceful Pathways Montessori offers your child a world class education of the mind along with an education heart that will nurture her or his self-confidence, personal creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Services
Thank you for your interest in our school. I am pleased to be the founder, owner, and Head of School at Peaceful Pathways Montessori Academy. My husband and I are excited to live in the community of Yorkville. We met and grew up together in this community and had the privilege of raising our own children here too.
Montessori is a comprehensive educational approach from birth to adulthood based on the observation of children's needs in a variety of cultures all around the world. Beginning her work more than a century ago, Dr. Maria Montessori developed this educational approach based on her understanding and observation of children's natural learning tendencies as they unfold in prepared environments for multi-age groups (0-3, 3-6, 6-12, and 12-18).
Peaceful Pathways Montessori Academy is the best school around. Both of my children attended all programs from Parent-Child Class through the Adolescent Classroom and loved the experience. We are very grateful to the teachers and staff for offering a loving environment, challenging academics, and a micro-economy for them to learn and grow their skills.
Parent/Child classes are an opportunity for the child (ages newborn through 2 1/2) and the parent or caregiver to experience time together in a prepared Montessori classroom environment. Materials are geared to the infant and toddler age. The teacher acts as the facilitator of learning and play and provides information and readings to help the adult experience and understand the child's growth and development - including social interactions.
The Toddler Program is designed to be a gentle transition from home to school. Through close cooperation between parents and the teacher, the children are gradually able to separate from their parents without anxiety. In a respectful and gentle way, Peaceful Pathways' teachers support the child's natural development, with focus always on the encouragement of independence.

We are so grateful to have found this school. It aligns with our educational values of whole child education and the community of families couldn't be more welcoming. PPMA even offers everything from Cub Scouts to band. There's a greenhouse, chickens and offers relevant and authentic learning opportunities without the burden of homework or standardized testing. As a former public education teacher, I wholeheartedly believe in the Montessori philosophy and highly recommend PPMA.
