Mohs micrographic surgery is a highly specialized skin cancer procedure that effectively removes the tumor with minimal damage to the surrounding healthy skin. The wound left by your skin cancer surgery is then repaired in a manner that optimizes your aesthetic and functional outcomes, a process that requires the expertise of a skilled reconstructive surgeon.
There are three main types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Unfortunately, these cancers tend to occur in highly visible areas of the body such as the face, neck, chest, upper back, arms and legs. Surgery has historically been the mainstay of treatment for these cancers and is an area of expertise for Dr. Hooman Khorasani; however, even the greatest surgeons are not able to produce a scar-free surgery.

I had a very positive experience with Dr Khorasani and his staff at the Park ave office. From the initial consultation to the follow up post surgery, everyone was extremely professional and accommodating. I had a freckle removed from my bottom lip which I was quite nervous about. I went to Dr. Khorasani for a laser mole removal on my nose. As a doctor and surgeon, Dr. Khorasani is extremely professional, kind, and good at what he does. Dr. Khorasani is the absolute best! I would trust him with my life and I have. I am a 2x melanoma patient and Dr. K did both of my mohs surgeries as well as an excision on an abnormal mole; all of which were done on incredibly cosmetically sensitive areas including my ankle, face, and chest. Dr. K is a true artist and made sure my scars were as minimal as possible while making sure that the margins were cleared and my skin cancer successfully removed. There is no better grade I can give Dr.Khorasani and his entire staff, than an A+!! I found out about Dr. Khorasani from a friend who also used him for their Mohs surgery. I had my basal cell carcinoma in a difficult section of my nose, which made it a bit scary. When in surgery, Dr. Khorasani took time to explain procedure, quell any of my fears,; and I have to say he did a superb job both as a care giver in the moment, and a skilled surgeon! His skills in plastic surgery when suturing actually accomplished an almost unnoticeable small scar- which I couldn't be happier about.

The best (and most thoughtful) dermatologists I have ever been to. Period. I initially came to Dr. Khorasani to look at a few skin spots I was concerned with. I was immediately struck by how attentive and friendly he was. Most doctors run in and out, and aren't interested in what you think...usually they just want to give their opinion and move on, but Dr. Khorasani was totally different. He took the time to quickly get to know me and then answered any questions I had. It was because of this first interaction that convinced me to come back and try one of the procedures he recommended for my thinning

Dr. Khorasani and his staff are absolutely wonderful! Ahead of all procedures he explains what will be done in detail. He is so kind and caring as are all of his staff. Regardless of what’s being done, they make you feel very comfortable. They follow up with you and answer any and all questions you may have before and after. I could not recommend him more highly. Doctor Khorasani is my favorite doctor in the city. He's one of the most prestigious plastic surgeons in the country. When I visited him, I had a lot of questions with my scars. He patiently answered my questions and provided treatment plans.
The new office is a warm place like home. The front desk Cindy is one of my favorite person in that office.

I have been seeing dr.k since my dermatologist passed away over 4 years ago. his care prior to his going into private practice drove me to continue retaining him. he and cindy follow up on me to make sure everything goes the way it should, and when it seems that it might not be going that way there is no hesitation to come in and get it going right. this to me is the sign of the best care.

Dr. Khorasani is the best! I have had numerous treatments over the past past few years and my skin has never looked better. I am on camera for my job and I am always getting compliments on my skin from make up artists before makeup application! Meeting with Dr.Khorasani and his staff to have a mole removed was an experience that they'd made seamless and satisfactory. I'd felt a hospitable energy from everyone inside and very comfortable seeing all of the adaptations made in regards to the current Covid era.

Khorasani and his staff are great, but Active FX is a scam. I paid $3000+ to make my skin uglier. Got two new pigment stains under my eyes, and literally all my skin imperfections remained intact. For this, you go through weeks of crazy hassle, creaming your face like crazy, not leaving the house for days, etc. I should've just burned that cash in a fire, would've been better off. Literally the worst deal in my whole life.

What a great experience it was at Dr Khorasani's office. I had my first visit yesterday and as soon as I walked into the office, I felt comfortable and at ease. The front desk staff and nurses are so welcoming and friendly. I loved that their was no wait. Dr.Khorasani came in, listened to my questions/concerns, he addressed them in detail, told me exactly what to expect during my procedure and was so patient and generous with his time in talking with me first. I met dr Khorasani because I had basal cell carcinoma right at the tip of my nose. He performed Mohs surgery. I was scared, because I thought "The scar would be so visible" but I could see right away I was in good hands. In fact not only the scar is barely there, but dr k also gave me a fresh new look
With an upper blepharoplasty (droopy eyelids run in my family). My eyes look so naturally beautiful, there was no pain and most of all no scars.

Dr. Khorasani is a truly amazing. I have worked in the beauty industry at magazines/publishers for many years and have had various experiences with many dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons simply because of my line of work.
