Our secrets to success at Rainbow Steps are simple: we offer a wide variety of proven, time-tested classroom activities that are geared toward preparation for education in higher grades, and throughout life. We make your child's transition from home to school in a supportive, creative, caring manner.
We raise our own Monarchs so that children are able to see each caterpillar eat lots of milk weed, form its chrysalis, undergo metamorphosis, and finally open up into a beautiful Monarch. The very first Thanksgiving nearly 400 years ago was celebrated by only 50 people of several faiths and nationalities.
There is pretty clear scientific evidence gathered from many studies that shows that well-designed preschool education programs produce long-term improvements in school success, including higher achievement test scores, lower rates of grade repetition and special education, and higher educational attainment.
One of the things that we teach at Rainbow Steps is the beginning of how to describe and compare measurable attributes. This student is comparing the size of various objects in order to describe one as bigger or smaller than the other. School-raised Monarch butterflies leave for their migration to Mexico while we have fun learning a lot about nature's creatures, geography, biology, metamorphosis, and more.
