Ernest J Carpentieri is a graduate of American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, September Class of 1979. Throughout his life he has always been an active member of his community. Ernest has been a member of the Hawthorne Fire Department since 1985 and is presently serving as Fire Commissioner for his second term.

I live in Minnesota and used Hawthorne's services for my elderly sister who died in New York in early September. I had set up a pre-paid funeral account for her with them 12 years earlier. From the initial set-up of the account to her death last week, the Carpentieris have been absolutely professional, gracious, and patient through the entire process.

My family recently required the services of Hawthorne Funeral Home. I can only say wonderful things about Ernie and Marlena. At a time when making decisions and having to focus on last wishes of a loved one is extremely difficult, Ernie and Marlena made the process seamless. Ernie took charge from the initial call and continued to do so throughout the making of arrangements. My dad had passed away 4 days ago and my family and I went to see “Ernie” J. Carpentieri, as we had done many times before for other members of our family.

My Dad passed away last week 😢We we’re all devastated and confused of what to do next. So we called the Hawthorne funeral home. We’ve been to many wakes In the past but never experienced it firsthand our selves. During the most difficult of times, Ernie was kind, helpful, communicative and compassionate as we made my father's funeral arrangements from long distance. We live in California where he passed and he handled everything with extreme care, concern and professionalism in order to get him back to New York where he would be laid to rest. He answered every phone call and question with patience and walked us through the process, as this was our first experience.

This is never an easy time when you lose a loved one. When my father relocated to Florida he requested when the time came that Hawthorne Funeral Home perform his services. It was after he was placed in hospice that his wife contacted Ernie for advice and guidance. He always made time for her answering her questions with sympathy and compassion. When we learned that my father had hours to days remaining we reached out to Ernie J. Carpentieri at the Hawthorne Funeral Home to preplan my father’s funeral arrangements.
