Anita's was founded in 1985 after constant encouragement from friends and family to open an authentic Mexican restaurant. Over 30 years later they can say "I told you so!" One of Anita's joys is serving families that come in to enjoy a meal together. Immigrating from Michoacan, Anita brought with her the flavors of her native Mexico.

Anita's menu stands apart from your typical Mexican restaurant. Some of these unique and original dishes include; Tamarindo chicken or shrimp, and Mesquite smoked pork Carnitas. Join us and experience the fresh and delicious flavors of Anita's!

Lunch Menu Report

Anita's uses only the finest quality meats and the freshest vegetables in all our recipes. No animal fat or lard is used in our cooking. Chicken breast sauteed with onions in a tangy tamarindo sauce, topped with toasted sesame seeds and fresh cilantro. A crisp tortilla basket filled with seasoned ground beef, three cheese blend, tomatoes, lettuce, guacamole, or sour cream.

They have wonderful service. A beautiful building. BUT THE FOOD IS SOOOOOO BAD. It's not gross it's just dosnt have any flavor. I have drove past the location several times and there always empty. I thought they were closed. I now know why. It's the tasteless food.

The worst Mexican food I've ever had. Shredded chicken was very dry. The fried fundido tortilla was so tough you need a steak knife to cut. Very underwhelming and will stick to La Fogata for Mexican food in the future.

The owner is a really nice guy . ❤️ He stopped by our table and talked to me and my wife . He told us that he us from El cajon California, . So we know that he knows Mexican food . My wife is from San Diego, so we had a really nice conversation . WE LOVE ANITA'S RESTAURANT ❤️

If you want real Mexican food this is not the place. Tacos 🌮 where a surprise for us, beef was ground beef. Plates are small.

Wonderful food , great staff that were friendly and attentive..
Carnitas had a distinct and yummy flavor. Some of the best I have had. I loved the grilled fish taco as well as it was nicely flavorful.

Food is still good here. However you will pay extra for chips and salsa now so he prepared $3.00 per chips /salsa. The menu has been reduced from what it use to be but the food is still good. Service was great!

Cheese dip had globs in it and soupy. I got chicken Cassidea , only chicken an cheese. This did not come with anything else. Xtra charge for sour cream and avocado. Drinks $ 3.00, I got a refill later than I wanted. My grandson got sprite no refill. We could have bought a 2 liter and still had money left over.

Dinner last Friday there. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was crazy delicious and amazing fast considering the large party that was there. Will be going back again.

I needed curbside delivery they were very accommodating. The meal was delicious as always we had ground beef chimichangas and chicken chimichangas with rice and beans. The salsa and chips were great as well.

Outstanding service and food. I’ve eaten enchiladas all over the world and this is the only place I’ve found where they taste like my mother made them. No wonder Anita ha been serving up great food for 36 years.
