WOW - 20 Years ago today, Kimbel Construction was born. Little did I know when I took that giant leap of faith to start a new business where we would be today. Looking back, we've created a lot of memories, you could say a lifetime of memories and I can say overall that I'm very happy and very proud of what we've been able to accomplish over the years.
Not only has this business provided for my family, but it's been a passion and I think we have helped create a lot of change in the industry. My father Bill and wife Angela joined with me early on this adventure and later my sister Kelly came on board to keep everything rolling along.

Each of our new home projects has a Distinct architectural uniqueness. Whether it be bold, contemporary, farm house, eclectic or traditional; each have their own look and style. Every homeowner and project are different and we love the challenge!. Our renovation projects come from the perfect recipe: A client's idea is molded into an architectural design that is decorated with a designer's touch.
First and foremost, I wouldn't have anyone else build a home for me other than Kimbel Construction. In ways you can say I am blessed having the opportunity to build two homes (so far) with Kimbel Construction. The Kimbel team is top notch. You guys have accomplished assembling a group of individuals and contractors that all walk with similar visions which is truly amazing.
Having developed several commercial properties over the years, our upcoming home remodel would be the first project for ourselves. We were looking for a team that could bring our vision of a farmhouse with panache to life. We wanted our home to reflect elements of age combined with modern technology.

You see, in 1998, the ENERGY STAR homes program was just getting off the ground nationally and in Kentucky it wasn't even a reality until Kimbel Construction became the first custom home builder to join forces with the EPA and the DOE and become an ENERGY STAR homes partner.We had the vision early to build energy efficient homes and it set us apart from the competition for many years.

In 2011, I was intrigued with a news story by ABC's Diane Sawyer about building a home out of 100% American made materials. The more I thought about it, the more I got excited about the possibility of actually building this type of home in Louisville. Many who know me know how I like to pioneer new ideas and concepts into our local building industry and building a "Made In America Home" seemed like the natural thing to do.
