Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. Implants provide a permanent, strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth that are made to match your natural teeth. Patients need to have healthy gums and enough bone to support an implant. In order to be considered for an implant, patients need a dental/radiographic examination and health history review.

Mini Dental Implants (MDI) are narrower in diameter than regular dental implants. These new, small diameter or Mini implants do not involve a surgical procedure. That's a big plus! This allows for quick healing. In fact, in most cases your denture can be immediately adapted and connected to the new implant, at the same visit!

An integral component of successful standard dental implants is the quality and quantity of bone where the implant is to be placed. The process of tooth removal can often leave inadequate height or width (or both) of supporting bone. This may necessitate placement of a bone graft in the future implant site.
