I’m a single mom and a teacher-and I hate dealing with all the financial aspects of life. Jackie and Amber made my refinance super-simple, easy, and they answered all my (ridiculous) questions. I had rate-shopped and City Creek had the great rates, and they were also super-responsive and available—but didn’t ever overload me with a ton of spammy calls.

Looked at some refi options with City Creek, had some snags in the process and ended up choosing another lender. But I'll give City Creek lots of credit for their response to my less-than-smooth experience (even sent me a gift certificate to a restaurant). Next time I have a mortgage need (which might be soon if Trump keeps meddling with the economy and pushing rates down), I'll definitely reach out to City Creek.

City Creek Mortgage has been a blessing to our family. We were jumping through hoops with another lender and sending document after document after document to get our home loan approved. We felt like we were living in a bad dream. We decided to halt the process with the other lender and talk with Mike at City Creek to see if there was anything they could do to help us. Not only were they able to get our loan approved super fast, they went above and beyond to lay it all out on the table so that we knew what hoops we couple possibly have to jump through. Avoid City Creek, their gifts are in marketing, not mortgages.
I had a similar experience to Jeff W (would have lost earnest money), but fortunately was able to switch to another lender.
I also experienced poor communication and a pre-approval that turned out to mean very little.
City Creek is not Fannie Mae approved and therefore could never have done our loan. This isn't needed for every loan, but was important in our case due to commission income.
A red flag was being asked to sign a contract and pay for an appraisal before we had a property under contract. This is not appropriate

I just closed another loan with this amazing company. I have closed at least 10 loans with them since the late 90's and I have yet to experience anything but exceptional service, honesty and fairness. The Mortgage business is complicated and difficult. The City Creek team deals with these complexities so I don't have to. I have read several negative reviews regarding City Creek and it seems to me that they are generally related to issues that are out of City Creek's control... namely appraisals and credit. A broker cannot change an appraisal amount or credit score!

Thank you Desiree & Mike, closed my loan quick, up front and honest with me and keep me in the loop the entire time. I have done several loans with City Creek over the past 9 years, everything from my primary home (refi) to purchase of rental properties, and they have done a great job. I would highly recommend going with City Creek Mortgage, they know what they are doing, Des has been there over 10 years, and Mike has been doing this for over 17 years. He knows what he is doing.

We ended up using City Creek Mortgage for our last real estate purchase through the builder. There were some communication disconnect at the beginning, and we managed to clear it out toward the end of the process. With tougher government regulations, many things are not within their control, and they tried their best to get things moving smoothly with good planning to keep closing within the deadlines.
