Services
Providing top notch veterinary care to cats and dogs in the North Branford area since 1983. Diagnostic imaging allows our veterinarians to look at your pet internally for clues about sickness or injury. Dental care is an essential part of your pet's overall health to prevent dental disease and tooth loss.
Let Pet Shield Veterinary Hospital provide a professional veterinary exam for your kitten, puppy, cat, or dog. A physical exam is the smartest and easiest way to keep your pet healthy. Wellness exams allow our veterinarians to detect problems and diseases that might go undiscovered otherwise, including heart murmurs, tumors, enlarged organs, cataracts, ear infections, ear mites, dental disease, skin issues and allergies.
At Pet Shield Veterinary Hospital, our goal is keeping your pet happy and healthy. Thanks to modern diagnostics and our on-site laboratory, we're able to do just that for sick and injured pets. Diagnostic imaging allows us to examine your pet's internal organs and body systems to better diagnose their conditions.
Dental care is an essential part of your pet's overall health. When oral hygiene is neglected, pets can develop dental disease which negatively affects other systems in the body and may lead to tooth loss. A pet's dental health is just as important as their physical health, however, it often goes overlooked.
Pet Shield Veterinary Hospital provides veterinary surgical care and services for cats and dogs. Using state-of-the-art equipment and an experienced team, we'll provide your pet with high-quality surgery in a safe, stress-free and relaxing environment. Our team of skilled veterinarians and technicians are ready to provide your pet with a range of surgeries.

I feel the need to preface this post by saying- I next to never write reviews- Like EVER!!! Further, I'd like to note- I am not paid to post! This said, after recently taking a look at some of the comments posted I felt compelled to share my personal experiences with this hospital. I have been taking my dogs to this practice for over 17 years. I have used other veterinarians before so this lens is not one narrowed by lack of exposure to other groups.
Gordie was the first dog I took to Pet Shield. Actually, Nicole, who was fostering Gordie, was taking him there after his rescue from St. Croix.

My Bernese Mountian Dog is petrified of vets. I heard good things about Pet Shield so we gave it a try. Dr Reed and Amanda were kind, professional and absolutely patient beyond all expectation. They continually worked to treat my dog where she was comfortable and didn't give up until they had what they needed in a way that my dog was okay with. Wonderful experience and I am so glad we switched!
