Dr. Ouellette completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Cornell University in 1971. After a summer internship at the Henry Berg Memorial Hospital of the ASPCA in NYC, he worked 5 years as an associate veterinarian at the Fort Hill Animal Hospital in Huntington Long Island, NY. Wishing to return to his hometown of Madison, CT, where he graduated from DHHS in 1965, he built the Madison Veterinary Hospital in 1976.
We are always looking for the perfect team member to join our team and provide patients with the individualized care they deserve! Are you looking for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners? At Madison Veterinary Hospital we are always looking for highly motivated individuals with enthusiastic and positive attitudes that share our values and passion for helping animals.
The most important thing that you can do for your pet is to have regular examinations by a veterinarian. Annual physical exams, vaccinations, routine blood work, urinalysis, and fecal testing, are key to maintaining your pet's overall health and happiness. Our pets are living longer than ever before, thanks to advances in preventative care and nutrition.
We have an onsite, top of the line, digital radiography system that is able to provide us with powerful diagnostic images when your pet needs them. Radiology or X-rays, helps our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.
At Madison Veterinary Hospital all of our veterinarians are skilled in surgical procedures. We perform many types of surgeries from the more common surgeries such as ovariohysterectomy (spay), castration (neuter) and routine dental cleanings to more complicated/involved surgical procedures such as wound or fracture repair, abnormal growth/lump removals, digit or limb amputation, bladder stone removal, and advanced dental disease treatment.

We got our sweet kitty Chloe spayed here and the staff was amazing. They provided us with a cone and treated our sweet girl so great. The staff had great communication with us and explained everything to my partner and I so well. 10/10 so thankful for this place!

My kitten was sick for 3 days and I couldn't get any vet in Waterbury where I live. My daughter made a phone call and spoke with someone about me having to bring my kitten to a good veterinarian and a really nice woman called her back and said I could bring her in and not worry about any type of fee. Due to the fact that I didn't have the money to pay on that day! I was very surprised and totally appreciated what thIey did for me and my Mia ( Kitty ) I reccomend them for anyone who wants a great Veterinarian to bring their animal to.

My dogs got in a fight and one of them ended up with a puncture wound on her head above her left eye. Despite me being attentive and cleaning it immediately, it soon became infected with an abscess. After calling every vet within a 20 miles radius, they were willing to take her at a time that didn’t conflict with my work schedule that same day. The Doctor quickly assessed my poor dog, cleaned her wound and gave her the proper antibiotics; in and out in less that 30 mins. I highly recommend this organization for anything your pets may need. For a lot of us, our pets are our children and I’d
