Hi, my name is Kearn Moore (previously known as Karen Mayer) and I'm a licensed massage practioner and the owner of Massage of Boulder Creek. I offer a variety of healing techniques and therapeutic services. Learn more about my background below, and check me out on FaceBook. I moved to Boulder Creek in 1996, and one day it dawned on me that my goals and ideals in life had shifted — it was time for a personal connection with my community.
One of the most commonly taught and well-known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. Five basic strokes, all flowing toward the heart, are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. The disrobed client is covered by a sheet, with only the area being worked on exposed.
As accumulated physical tensions are released, there can be a corresponding release of emotional tensions as well. Additionally, massage stimulates the flow of vital life energy and provides essential nurturing in an environment of care and trust. It is our belief that each one of us possesses the inherent capacity to heal ourselves.
As a nurse and mother of two with a firefighter husband, I know the importance of massage. Karen has been administering her healing touch to my husband and I for the past 5 years. Through pregnancy, child-rearing, commuting, injuries, strains and pulls, Karen has nursed us back to health with her intuitive and nurturing touch.
