Dockside Doctor. is owned and operated by Larry Hayes, who founded the company in 1987 while serving in the U.S. Navy. Larry retired in 1990 as a Chief Petty Officer Aviation Electrician's Mate. During active duty, Larry spent five years on the acclaimed, elite U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Maintenance Crew.
During his military career, Larry accumulated 5,000 flight hours as a naval air crewman flight engineer on the Lockheed C-130 Hercules aircraft. After retiring from the Navy, Larry put in another 21 years working as an aircraft support equipment mechanic for various contractors at Naval Air Station Pensacola.
