Thai-Siam is a family-owned and operated restaurant that has served authentic Thai cuisine and Chinese favorites alongside strong personalities since 2004. Both Thai immigrants, the owner/chef duo opened Thai-Siam after 11 years of owning a Chinese buffet in Parsons, KS. Here in Lawrence, we strive to create flavorful, made to order dishes out of fresh ingredients.
We provide non-ostentatious meals in a casual atmosphere reminiscent of mom-and-pop eateries along the streets of Thailand. We'd like to become one of your favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurants rather than your favorite sit-down spot!

I was told that the Thai food at this place was the best in Lawrence for the money, but that the rudeness of management was unsurpassed, as well. My opinion is that the quality and tastiness of the food doesn't come close to the other Thai restaurants. In fact, it was quite bland and amt of rice was insufficient in comparison. The impatience of management is inexcusable. I will not be causing any more stress for the guy, however. One time is sufficient!

We love Thai Siam and get food from there a couple times a month. Everything on the menu is good, but our favorites are the Pad Thai, Beef/Chicken with basil, and Beef Tendon Noodle Soup. The owners are always the ones cooking the food and usually taking orders as well. I imagine they put in a lot of hours. We have not experienced any unfriendliness, but they can come off as abrupt at times. For the price and quality of food, Thai Siam is a great option.

The owners are complete morons. Rude and scream at you just for politely asking for extra sauce on a dish. What a sh*t show. These people are so mean. I was willing to give extra money and a bigger tip just for extra sauce. Why are they so rude?! Unbelievable. I would give zero stars just for the customer service alone.

Go someplace else. Owners are rude and have no concept of time. I use to love this place but they are way over their head and clearly need to hire a helper to take orders. The last three times I've gone they said the order would be ready in 45 minutes and when I arrive they say it will be ready in 15-20 minutes.

My wife and just got back from a trip to Thailand and wanted to give Thai Siam a try. We ate there for the first time with our two kids (12 & 9) and everyone loved their dishes. The vegetable fried rice was the best I've ever had. The food is authentic and reasonably priced. We are happy we found such good Thai food so close to us! Would highly recommend Thai Siam.

The previous reviews about the bad customer service and rudeness is hit or miss in my opinion. I have been here countless times and been greeted warmly and received my food with a smile. Other times I have witnessed some eye rolls and not so great phone etiquette.
NONETHELESS the food is amazing and very consistent. This is one of the few restaurants I've been to over and over again and the taste constantly delivers.
The paper wrapped chicken is probably the best thing on the menu, but it is just an appetizer. Between my husband and I we need two orders. I don't even know how to explain

I called in to order and the phone just rings and rings and rings....
Drove by to see if they were open, and they were, the open sign and the lights were on yet, not a single customer inside. I parked and called again with no luck.
I didn’t get to try their food but after reading the review comments, I don’t want to anymore, what’s wrong with them?

Thai Siam is the best Thai food I've been able to find in Lawrence. Other Thai restaurants are cleaner, better decorated and have friendlier service, but their food isn't good. The Tom Ka Kai soup is outstanding. The cucumber salad is simple and delicious. The spring rolls with the peanut sauce is a favorite. I recommend sticking to the Thai items on the menu, but I have to mention the sweet and sour chicken. The chicken pieces are breaded and fried like crispy fried chicken pieces. They're served with pineapple, onion and green pepper pieces with the usual sweet and sour

Pad See Ew, say it 6 times fast. Well it's my favorite Thai dish ever and I crave this delicious dish multiple times a month so finding a place to get this is important. Well, I found it and it is good ! We ordered to go but didn't call it in we just ordered when we got there and it only took about 20 minutes from start to finish getting everything we ordered.
Now to the ordering; we got the Beef Pad See Ew, Chicken Fried Rice, and Spring Rolls. They were out of spring rolls but one of the owners told my husband she could make them quickly for us because they had some more veggies and

Thai Siam, you are the strangest, quirkiest spot that I miss dearly in Lawrence. Thai Siam is authentic Thai Food, where a Thai family is always behind the stove whipping up delicious curries and noodle dishes. It's endearing that it's in an old Subway and it never fails to deliver on flavor.
It's a place I was so hesitant to ever try because it looks like it's a snack bar at a baseball game with their blue and white menu sign. They also offer an array of crowd-pleasing Chinese dishes, but don't go that direction as it's not their area of strength. Thai is the forte
