Ours is a full service ophthalmology (eye M.D.) practice providing medical and surgical eye care. We want to help you achieve a lifetime of excellent vision and health! Our goal is to provide useful information to help you with decisions while stimulating interest in your eyes and vision. We have attempted to answer some of the more common questions about eye care and vision on this site.
In our experience, most patients have unique facts about their health and vision requiring specific answers that can only be provided after an appointment. If you have specific concerns and questions, please call for an appointment. We will do everything possible to determine the cause of your problem(s) and the best possible solution(s).

Improving and preserving vision are goals of Dr. Nepple and all of us at Clear Vision Eye Care. With over 30 years experience Dr. Nepple attends continuing education courses at institutions both in and outside the United States on a regular basis as do members of our staff. Recently reappointed for 3 years, he has been an Associate Professor (volunteer faculty) with the University of Wisconsin - Madison Department of Ophthalmology for many years.
Please meet our wonderful staff, shown here at their many and varied professional duties in the following paragraphs. Dr. Nepple is proud of their professionalism, training and certifications. Linda is certified through three levels of ophthalmic technology, having also achieved the distinction of certification in ophthalmic surgery.
If you need glasses for reading and also sit at a computer, chances are you have experienced eye, neck or back strain. There are lenses made especially for intermediate and close vision, which are perfect for computer work. Some lenses have a blended progressive add style with a wider "middle" vision area and a wider "reading" area than the traditional progressive add lens (also known as a no-line bifocal).
Methods to reduce dependence on glasses/contact lenses have existed for many years. New surgical techniques usually involve the use of the excimer laser, which is providing improved uncorrected vision and better lives for many millions of people. If you are nearsighted (myopic), farsighted (hyperopic) and/or have astigmatism, excimer laser treatment may be an option for you rather than glasses or contact lenses.
Cataract and intraocular lens implant surgery is a primary service of our practice. We are proud to have been the first practice in the area to offer small incision phacoemulsification cataract surgery. We were performing this small incision surgery with lens implants for our patients with cataracts for many years before other ophthalmologists in the area.
