I have been President of the Jackson County Home Builders Association in 2002, 2003 and 2004. I've continued to sit on the JCHBA board and will be President again in 2010. I have a degree in Architectural Drafting & Design as well as attending classes at Ohio State and Ball State Universities in the field of Architecture.
I run my business as a professional Designer & Builder that carries and unlimited residential and light commercial license and I am insured in construction. Since I started building in North Carolina I have taken spanish classes to try to understand some of the workers from Mexico. I will say that I am by far able to communicate efficiently.

Services
Hello, my name is Susanne Moore and I am the Designer and General Contractor for Moore Construction Services. I have been building homes in the mountains of North Carolina since March of 1997. I have built homes that are log, timber frame and standard stick frame construction. I design most of the homes I build and I have also built homes designed by architects and/or log and timber home package companies.
Picking the right General Contractor or subcontractor requires either a bit of knowledge about the job that person is doing or to ask for references from other people who understand the job. You know the old adage, "you get what you pay for", can be very appropriate in the field of construction.
Some things to keep in mind when hiring people in construction is, that it's not just about the labor that is being performed and whether that person "can" do the job.Almost every job in construction requires specific tools and the person you hire should have the correct tools to do the job that you want done.

I have tried to include as many photo's of my projects as possible, the display is not a reflection of all that I have built but all that I had time to include on this site before it's launch. I also wanted to describe some of the complications that would arise when building in the mountains of North Carolina.
I wanted to create a page that would help you to understand some of the terms that I have used throughout this website. For individuals who are unfamiliar with the process of building a new home, sometimes it may seem daunting. If you've talked to friends or people you meet who currently own a home here and they have repeated the horror stories of building a new home in the mountains, it's no wonder so many decide against doing it.
Most home buyers don't have the insight into the building process that we, builders, take for granted. Procedures that are habit for us are alien to you, and normal ups and downs of building a house can make you uncomfortable, maybe even suspicious. A builder's job is to manage this intimidating process on behalf of his customers.

I have had a very disappointing experience with this company. I wish I could rate it zero stars. My family had Susanne Moore come out to our house on Lake Glenville last fall to see if her company could help us with a remodel and to bid on the job. She returned a second time with her brother so we thought she was interested in working with us. We were under the impression she would get back to us over the winter. We hadn't heard anything by January and since we were traveling out to the area I suggested via an email getting together for an update. There was no response so I sent a second email

Wow! Moore Construction is presently building us a faux log cabin bathroom upstairs in my husband's man cave. Moore Construction built this home in 2008 and then completed the bonus room over the garage in 2017 after we bought it. We love every inch of this home. Suzanne builds with both the perfect construction know-how plus the eye of an artist. What is extra nice is that all the tradesmen are wonderful and there is a lot of respect and friendship between each other and Suzanne. Each man goes the extra mile to do a perfect job. The carpenter, Jonathan, chopped 3 trees down for us to

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Susanne Moore as our general contractor. Susanne is professional and well trained. We interviewed 4 contractors and chose Susanne without hesitation. Our build was complicated by a number of factors, and Susanne was always able to find the right solutions, with creative and innovative ideas, always with an eye on the budget. Susanne’s billing for the project was transparent, as she provided spreadsheet details and complete documentation of services and expenses.
We found Susanne to be very creative with her ideas and designs, always making tasteful
