A trigger point is a musculoskeletal injury caused by overuse, structural misalignment, sports injuries, car accidents, or even things as simple as improper posture or sleeping with your neck in the wrong position. If you are experiencing pain and stiffness, the affected area is sensitive to the touch, and it feels like you have a knot in your muscle, you have found a trigger point.
Chiropractor Dr. Dave Simmons believes in incorporating therapeutic techniques into treatment plans for all of his patients. Located in Pittsburgh's Shadyside neighborhood, he not only treats acute problems, but gives patients the tools required to achieve complete healing, faster. Check out the therapeutic techniques we use here at Simmons Chiropractic below, and schedule a visit today.
Whether through illness, a car accident, sports injury, or overuse, sometimes joints and muscles stop functioning as they should. We may experience weakness, limited range of motion, or pain. If this has happened to you, then you may be a good candidate for rehabilitation, also known as physical therapy.
Back pain, whether it is in the upper or lower back, or neck region is all too common today. Often, back pain is caused by muscle or ligament strain, structural misalignment due to improper posture, trigger points, or other types of musculoskeletal injuries. Just because back pain is common, however, doesn't mean you have to live with it.

I had been struggling with persistent headaches & migraines for years. After being adjusted by Dr. Dave only a couple of times, the headaches are rare & migraines are gone. He is also starting to get some movement in my lower back, which no one else has been able to do. I truly recommend him highly.

Dave is a great guy and an awesome chiropractor. Coming from a family that was skeptical of chiropractic care he certainly changed my mind. I've seen him for two separate injuries and he's been great each time. It's nice to see the emphasis on injury prevention and also the home exercises he provides. He's also pretty flexible on scheduling and got me in the day I called in most cases.

Dr. Dave is the best. He is EXTREMELY thorough every time I go and he can always find that bothersome spot (or spots!). I always leave feeling 100x better. He provides good info on the muscles he's triggering as well as exercises to strengthen problem areas. I highly recommend Dr. Dave to everyone I know.

Honestly the best person to go for any back pain. I can't recommend Dr. Dave enough. I have never found relief for my pain and I have tried many different physical therapists, training routines, pain medications, and even other chiropractors. Dr. Dave actually works on the muscles themselves and helps to release tension before doing any adjustments. The man truly cares about his patients and I never feel like I am being rushed in or out. He is always on time and on top of his schedule as well. He is evidence based in his practice and is constantly continuing education. Truly a shining example of

I'm a nurse's aide at a nursing home and a student registered nurse. One day at work, I had hurt my back transferring a resident to a chair. Finally, when the pain got too bad, I called every chiropractor in Pittsburgh to try to find an appointment the same day and he was the only one who would see me. He is so nice and had a great sense of humor. I would rate him 10 ⭐️s if I could! I highly recommend and I won't be going anywhere else!

Dr Simmons has been treating me for several months on a weekly basis for mainly breaking down my scar tissue build up on a multiple-ruptured Achilles' tendon using the Graston technique. I was unfamiliar with the technique, but really wanted to address the stiffness and lack of flexibility in my ankle, so I could return to my activities such as running. The treatment is not for faint of heart, but is already showing results after 8 years of build up (I suggest starting as soon as possible to avoid a more challenging situation like mine.) "Dr. Dave" is very friendly and helpful with
