The team at Oceana Veterinary Clinic understands the importance of starting your puppy or kitten off on the right paw. Preventative care and vaccinations starts as early as 6 weeks of age. We treat each patient as an individual and recommend the best possible care for your pet. You will receive a customized puppy or kitten folder at each visit (up to 16 weeks of age) to help you understand your pet's needs now and in the future.
Oceana Veterinary Clinic now offers basic obedience classes and preschool training for puppies. The classes are held by our licensed veterinary technician, Jessica. Jessica has several years of experience with training and preschool classes and is currently working towards higher certification.
The basic obedience class focuses on training puppies over 4 months of age and adult dogs in the basic commands such as heel, sit, stay, come, down, and leave it.Classes also help the dogs learn impulse control and helps teach owners how to better communicate with their dogs. Training is encouraged through positive reinforcement.

The majority (85%) of pets over the age of 3 suffer from some degree of dental disease and will greatly benefit from a dental cleaning to scale away unwanted plaque and tartar that causes gingivitis and periodontal disease (inflammation and infection of the gums). Ultrasonic dental scaling gets above and below the gum line where bacteria can hide.
Less Pain - The laser beam seals the nerve endings as it cuts through tissue resulting in less pain during and after surgery. The patient, therefore, experiences a far more comfortable post operative recovery. Less Bleeding - The laser beam also seals small blood vessels during surgery resulting in less bleeding; helping to reduce the duration of surgery and decrease the time your pet is under anesthesia.

Girlfriend made an appointment for our dog this morning. Had a 9 am appointment. Got there super early about 8:20. A worker came out and she filled out paper work at 8:40 told her I was 30 mins early for appt she confirmed that was ok. Sat there til 9:35 and finally pulled off. It’s the weekends. Yes, sometimes you need a good Vet on the weekends, after hours. The little issue you thought was nothing WAS something. So grateful that Dr Emily Pluger was on call and able to see my cat, Piper, on a Sunday! Following a complete diagnostic work-up Piper is on her way to feeling better, and full recovery. Thank you Dr. Pluger!

I don't even know what to say and how to say it but in the hardest time of my life all the staff were so compassionate to me and my sweet Bo. Dr.Hasenbank talked to him the whole time allowing me to hold my boy… and tell him how much I love him. Sammi was sweet telling me shes so sorry and how much of a good boy he is. Thank you so much for being so caring and the love you and all your staff have for our furbabies I will forever be thankful that you cared for my boy.
