This was our parents' mission when they opened their very first lock shop on Monsarrat Avenue in 1972. They serviced homes and businesses; restaurants, vehicles, stores and mailboxes. Over time, our clientele grew and our shop moved from Diamond Head to Salt Lake, then Kaimuki. Had to have my portable Blink portable safe opened (picked) because batteries were long dead and I was unable to find the backup keys. Tried this place for the first time and was very satisfied that they resolved my issues, which only took no more a few minutes. The cost was $50 ( excluding the sales tax). Not sure what the going rate is for this type of service, but that seemed a little expensive. I probably could have bought a new replacement one with a little more. But didn't really have the choice because I needed to see the contents. Good lesson learned: 1) do check on your batteries

I've always felt that you can get the true measure of a person by how they treat their elders. Two Kupuna came in separately, and they were both helped with respect and care.
Lots of (free) parking - that's always a plus!

Had keys made at City Mill recently for a listing I had. Took 15 min to find someone and wasted an hour getting back to the unit to find the keys didn't even work.
While down the road I heard of Salz. Keys made immediately with no issues. Definitely my new go to for all things lock related. Everyone was kind, place was adequate size, parking right out front.
Recommend highly! Don't waste your time at city mill. Save the aggravation and get it done right the first time!

Locksmith, not just key duplicator service.
I think I found key nirvana! I've known about this place for a while and have seen the stellar reviews but I don't go to Kaimuki that much but I should have.....

I was driving around trying to get a seemingly simple key duplicated. My mind even tried to convince me that the key was so simple that I could learn how to pick the lock! This is a simple key.... even I knew that.
Despite going to several places, one of which had some kind of cool computer thing that would scan the key

Excellent service! Highly recommend going here for your lock/key fix. My car key clicker, the shell cracked. Big deal, very hard to start the car with the key not intact. We called the car dealership, they gave us the same 'ole round-about. We finally were able to get them to quote us $250+ & & $75 labor charge, for a new key/clicker. Damn!

You don't know how many times I have needed (and used) Salz Lock and Safe for their locksmith skills. They're the BEST. No other locksmiths need apply.
I've called on Salz multiple times for our clinic doors that needed new locks. I could also count on them when our break room had mysteriously locked us out (note to self: don't use push button locks on doors that will swing into appliances that may inadvertently "lock" the door from the inside). They were available that same day and unlocked the door within the hour.
