We started out as a husband-wife team in 1987, initially installing stone and ceramic tile. By the next year, we began to focus on slab fabrication and began to design a shop space specifically for cutting slabs. Our growth has been slow, conservative and deliberate. From the beginning our "niche" was taking on difficult, challenging jobs or jobs where a high level of service was required.
Initially, it was just the two of us, no crane, no forklift, no employees! Now we have a staff with multiple talents, skills and various backgrounds. We remain mindful of the fact that ultimately, our business is only as good as our employees, and that they are our most valuable asset.

Services
Prescott Stone Fabricators, Ltd. was established in Durham, NC in 1988. We are fabricators and installers of granite, marble, and limestone slabs. Our services are directed toward those who require a high standard of personalized and professional service and for those with highly complex or intricate jobs.
Because our customers care, we include in the cost of our jobs grain and color matching. The steps involved in this procedure require the placement of two slabs side by side (no small feat when you consider weight and the support needed). We then adjust the slabs up and down or back and forth until we achieve optimal color and grain matching at the seam.
Our stone is quarried all over the world. Most of the blocks are shipped to Italy for cutting and polishing and then port on the east coast before being shipped to our suppliers. Prescott Stone only uses suppliers who provide select granite. We never purchase "seconds" or go through disreputable suppliers.

I have known and seen the work of Charles Prescott for 30 years and yes he can be serious in his conversation and delivery. Personally, I want someone like that who is creating something for me that will last a lifetime. There is no better solid surface stone craftsperson alive. If there is they live very far away and we do not know them.
