In 1996, Ken and Karen Bates, now both military veterans, bought their first home with a $500 deposit and a VA loan. They were confident and educated but, in reality had no idea what they were doing or even what questions to ask. All they wanted was a reliable person to help them out; someone who knew and understood VA loans and their family's situation and provide options so they could make the best decision.
Going through the refinance process was smooth sailing. It took about less than 3 weeks which was faster than what I expected especially on a VA loan. Clay and Shiraney did an awesome job guiding my husband and I through the home buying purchase; this was our first time. Clay started with an initial meeting to ensure we fully understood the VA loan process. Then the pre-approval process was a breeze. I used Clay and his team and purchased a home in Riverside county. Honestly, definitely could have been smoother some of these things like the appraisal are obviously out of their control. That forced us into using more of our net proceeds. Also, closing 5 days late isn't the best when your wife is 8 months pregnant but overall Clay and his team were on top of things and got us the home we loved. Also, unfortunately we locked our rate at a terrible time which cost us more money out of pocket but I get it, nobody has a crystal ball. Thanks Clay and team for a job well done!

I have inquired to many VA home loans around and I even went with the nation's #1 VA lender and a local one to the desired area, but I must admit they weren't at all helpful. My husband and I are both veterans and with no so great of credit score to begin with, even though the VA themselves don't really have a minimum credit score to qualify, unfortunately these other major companies do. So we were out of luck! We have-been wanting to a buy a home for the last 5 years and finally qualified by income but not by credit score it sucks. One of the local companies actually penalized us

Doug, my mortgage loan officer was EXTREMELY thorough and transparent throughout my entire loan application process. Clay and I met pretty unconventionally. I'm not a buyer or a lender, and we never crossed paths until I received an offer on my listing from his buyer's. I am a realtor, and was representing the seller during our escrow. As a listing agent, I usually spend my transactions harping on buyer's lenders and nagging them for more communication. This was definitely not the situation with Clay! He sent me weekly updates and answered his phone every time I called. I wish all my transactions were as smooth as this one.
