I sent a request for proposal through Yelp to three companies. Jeff was the first to respond. I believe it was Jeff who responded and who came out but I'm not sure. What I will say is that the service was on time polite and extremely knowledgeable and helpful about locks and his industry in general. He gave me two quotes, one being worst case scenario and one being best case scenario. My situation ended up being best case scenario. He also fixed one of my locks that wasn't quite hitting the door quite right. Great service, goes above and beyond, highly recommend!

The owner of the company contacted me about the bad experience I had on the phone with the receptionist. I appreciate his effort. I apologize for using Yelp to express my frustration with an employee of his that he had no control over in that moment. And I caution other Yelpers to think about the impact of posting impulsive negative Yelps. This modern technology is unnecessarily damaging and should be used with caution and serious consideration, otherwise it is just a nasty juvenile forum. I needed a replacement mail key. first I went to a key kiosk and it did not have the correct type, also was going to cost $8. next I tried home depot who were also out (and I had to wait in line to learn this). the gentleman there told me about Jeff's Locksmith. Jeff had my copy made in about 30 seconds for $3.17. Wish I had gone here first!

Easy to get good reviews if you send threatening emails to anyone who doesn't like your business practices.
Due to the owner emailing me and calling me a liar, and saying I was slandering his business by stating a simple price discrepancy and experience I'll simplify my review.

Got a prompt reply from their web contact form on tips to get my soda vending machine Abloy cylinder T lock opened. Someone tried to pick it and couldn't get my key in. Thank you Robert!
I first rotated the discs with a small flat jewel screwdriver so they aligned. Then after a while of using WD-40 PTFE while inserting my key I was able to finally get my key in and turn it open.

My boyfriend and I both had keys made at 2 other very large reputable companies only to get home and have them not work. I was totally discouraged my boyfriend suggested going to Jeff's. so the first thing the guy said helping me oh I need to set this backbone the factory settings. he knew just what the problem was. in 6 mins I was on my way. SO my gun safe wouldn't open. I called the maker, sat on hold for 30 minutes, and then got some guy who couldn't fix my problems and told me it would cost me $300 to get a locksmith to crack open my safe. Bad day; bad news.
I emailed Robert and told him the problem. He said to give him a call so we could try some things over the phone. After about 10 minutes on the phone, the safe was open! This guy knows his stuff, and helped me without charging a dime! He said it was the right thing to do to help a fellow human. It simply doesn't get any better than that.

I was helped by a guy who was also named "Josh". Anyway, I was truly impressed with his desire to put the customer first. He went above and beyond in many ways:
- He knew my problem was time sensitive so he came right at the end of the work day (even though it took a half hour to do what I needed)
- I had a bit more of a unique problem but he stuck with it until we came up with a solution.
- He was willing to answer some followup questions over the phone over the next few days

When my call was answered, it was answer professionally and was not rushed. The rates were by far the MOST FAIR and had 3 of the 4 other shop's prices BEAT by a land slide.
Was the ONLY company where they took an appointment and service the same day. When booked, a few security questions were asked prior to service unlike all the other business I have called in prior to contact with Jeff's.
