The Beaver Valley Tutoring and Counseling Service began as the Beaver Valley Tutoring Service in 1988. It was founded by Janet Podnar, a veteran school teacher, who conceived the idea of beginning a service in Beaver County to meet the needs of students who were looking for additional academic help outside the classroom.
She had visited a similar business in Virginia while attending graduate school, so upon returning to Beaver Valley, Ms. Podnar started The Beaver Valley Tutoring Service with herself and a listing of 12 other teachers. In 1993 when Ms. Podnar received a Master of Arts degree in Professional Psychology, counseling services were also added, and the new Beaver Valley Tutoring and Counseling Service was born.

Services
The Beaver Valley Tutoring Service has been helping students improve in school since 1988, and the expanded Beaver Valley Tutoring & Counseling Service since 1993 when Ms. Podnar received a Master of Arts degree in Professional Psychology and began offering counseling services as well as tutoring. The Beaver Valley Tutoring and Counseling Service is equipped to meet the needs of students at any grade level and in any subject.
Each year the number of students and individuals helped by the services offered by the Beaver Valley Tutoring and Counseling Service continues to grow. Since all of our services are one-on-one, we can customize the help you need to meet your individual needs. We look forward to helping even more clients be able to function better in school or in life as we meet their academic or emotional needs.
