Since 1989, we have been serving patients throughout the Ocala, Florida, by offering a wide range of services including comprehensive eye exams, free glasses adjustments, and glaucoma treatments. Our goal is to help you see that you're in the best hands with our optometrist.

In fact, we will do all the work. We'll research your available benefits, obtain proper authorizations, and advise you of your vision benefits either before or at the time of your appointment. We work with many companies that offer private insurance for their employees as well, so be sure to call us even if you don't see your insurance on the list.
Question: What is the difference between an Optician, an Optometrist and an Ophthalmologist?. An Optician (LDO) is a health care provider licensed to fill and dispense spectacles, contact lenses and other optical devices from a written prescription of a licensed physician or Optometrist. An Optician may become licensed through a two-year education program or apprenticeship program but is not required to be licensed to work.

Terrible experience today with Ritz eye care. Been a patient for many years. Went to see him today for swollen eyex6 weeks. All he talked about was he doesn't want to do medical appts anymore. He was rude and very angry. He complained about how he couldn't get help in the office. I left there with a referral somewhere else. I will never go back to him.

My first visit to an eye doctor in over 40 yrs. Only went due to an issue with my right eye. Absolutely amazing experience. Doctor wss great. Very helpful answering my questions and made everything clear and easy to understand. The girl at the front desk is just as amazing. Set up everything including cost and payment options. I'll be recommending them to everyone.

Dr. Dan Ritz has been my optometrist for over 30 years, and he and his staff never disappoint. All of my eye needs are always taken care of with professional, courteous service - plus, I found some long-time friends. Even without the friendships, I would still go to Dr. Dan simply because he and his staff are the best, hands down. I look forward to 30 more years!

This was my first visit with Dr. Ritz and I could not have been more impressed. From check in, through the initial exam process with the technician, my thorough exam by Dr. Ritz, and then selecting my glasses and sunglasses with his Optician Lisa, the process was seamless and professional. Dr. Ritz exhibits a high level of detail and his extensive medical knowledge is evident.
