I am so grateful to Dr. Chu. My partial denture broke on a Friday late afternoon. My normal dentist had already closed. I have a speaking engagement on Sunday so I desperately needed my teeth to be right. And, the replacement tooth happens to be in the front of my mouth!
I called about 30 minutes before their closing time and they said if I could get there within 15 minutes he could see me. They didn't promise anything, but said he could look at it and see if he could fix it for me.

My wisdom tooth got infected last night and I could barely sleep. I tried to call Dr. Chu office this morning at 8:45am and didn't expect I could book an appointment today. Surprisingly Dr. Chu answered the phone right away and told me his office is closed today. I explained my symptoms and told him I tolerate can't bare the pain anymore... He got me in the office in two hours and I believe he came to the office just for me. What more I can say about him. Highly recommend!

Wow if I could give a thousand stars I would. I called this morning looking for a dentist to help my boyfriend out who was in a lot of pain, had no insurance and needed a root canal. Nobody would take him and everyone was booked, the woman who answered the phone here was so kind, helpful and empathetic. She immediately got my boyfriend an appt within THE HOUR!!! He was able to get the work done on his teeth and he shared the experience was great, amazing customer service and the dentist was really nice and got the work done that he needed. South Pasadena is very lucky indeed to have Dr Chu. Finding his practice was one of the best things I discovered after moving here. He is kind, timely, compassionate and best of all - painless! So grateful for Dr. Chu. After struggling with several days of intense tooth pain, I called him and he saw me right away on a Saturday as a new patient. He gave me the care I needed which was a root canal. The root canal was 100% pain free!!! I really appreciate him and his assistant for getting me the care I needed. The afternoon before Thanksgiving and a crown popped off my tooth that was done a couple years ago by a different dentist.
My wife found Dr. Chu and staff and when she asked if he could see me, today, Edna went to check and called us back.
Yes, I could be seen at 5pm!!
I got there early, greeted by a very affable Edna, filled out the paper work, and after looking over the crown and tooth by a super nice and super mellow Dr. Chu, it took all of maybe 20mins, total, to recement the crown back on.
Thus, my Thanksgiving holiday

I first came to Dr Chu because of his good reviews. I had a molar that had broken off and I had been burned by dentists so had let it go for a few years. He decided I needed a crown for my other molar first (they are both very worn - long story). Firstly when taking the mold they balanced it on my chest and it fell on the ground. They both looked at each other but I like its cool no biggy. He created a temp crown and put it in. I was in excruciating pain all night, half my face is tense and my eyebrow is twitching and had to wait hours for them to open at 8am Saturday. I tell him it feels too tight

I was having an emergency with my tooth and had no insurance and didn't know what to do. I called and Dr Chu answered immediately and got me in the office the next hour. Him and his staff were extremely friendly and professional and had everything set up safely and comfortably for covid which was something I was really nervous about when making the appointment. At the end he helped me out soo much, I'm completely healed. He was honest and did not try to sell me anything I did not need and In the end I didn't have insurance and the cost didn't even break my bank in the slightest

It is such a relief to find Dr. chu, for starters, he agreed to see me on a Saturday right before he was about to close. I was having a dental emergency and he was kind enough to see me even when I was late, and that stood out to me. He is friendly, professional and knowledgeable at what he does within seconds he pointed out to me an issue that was causing me distress. What a breath of fresh air this office is. Everything from the front desk to the excellent dentistry. I felt respected and cared for, having come from a bad experience with my last dentist. Most importantly, I wasn't pushed into an unnecessary deep clean which at some dental offices can be just a money grab as patients rarely know better.

Haven't been to a dentist in over 3 years. Found this practice through yelp and glad I choose to go here. I got a root canal and teeth cleaning. Dr. Chu is really good at explaining everything he is doing as he is going. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful as well. Parking is in the back as well.

I am the single biggest baby in the world when it comes to going to the dentist. I literally have avoided them like the plague, and in the process, developed a small plague in my mouth. Today, I had a severe gum abscess that required immediate help. I refused to go to a dentist but my lady's a nurse and told me to stop being a baby and go.
They took me in as a last minute walk up on Veterans Day. Edna and Dr. Chu are just about the friendly people on the planet. They were quick to ease my nerves and were calm and patient as they walked me through everything. It can't be understated

Best dentist ever! I had a wisdom tooth that had to come out (I was procrastinating big time due to my fear of tooth extractions). Dr Chu was not only very understanding and kind but I didn't feel a thing during the entire process. He walked me through it all.
Since then, I have had all my fillings replaced as well as some minor dental work. I totally recommend him! His staff is really nice too!

I am the biggest scaredy-cat of dentists which is why after years of avoidant neglect I needed an emergency appointment due to an infected & loose wisdom tooth that should have come out in my younger years. Edna took my morning call & kindly told me they were booked that day. I explained my symptoms & asked if she could squeeze me in. She did. I think she & Dr. Chu worked on me during what would have been their lunch break. They were very kind, non-judgemental, gentle, & expedient. I've been with him for almost a year now and he got me set up on Invisalign. He's kind, reliable, and informative. Does a thorough job with cleanings and with explaining any kind of services you are interested in.
