Our school was established in 1988 and provides a quality education for children ages 18 months to 5 years old. Main Line Montessori School's mission is to guide each student on their path of development by providing a carefully prepared environment, which nurtures the mind, body, and spirit of each individual child.
Montessori schools are often called "Children's Houses" and for children, these classrooms are as inviting, comfortable and enjoyable as their own home. It is not an adult environment adapted for children, it is an environment created just for them. This was a key principle when converting from a private residence into our very own children's house in 2008.

The sensorial materials promote the awareness of distinction, size, dimension and the ability of the child to understand what he/she is perceiving. Our mathematics area includes concrete materials for the children to manipulate. The basic operations of arithmetic are learned by combining, separating, sharing, counting and comparing these materials.
In the beginner classroom environment, children as young as 18 months begin to learn the basics of socialization from their teachers and especially from other children. At this age the children are eager to learn and explore! They begin to learn about the world around them through their newly developing senses!
Our primary classroom consists of children 3-5 years old. It is specially designed to encourage the natural developing interests of children in a positive, non competitive, Montessori environment. Our students learn how to be creative, responsible and independent. Following Dr. Montessori's theory, our lessons are designed to satisfy the natural need of the to child to learn by doing.
In our pre-primary program at MLMS, the environment is prepared to meet the needs of the young toddler both at the emotional and cognitive levels. The Montessori exercises are continuously changing as the needs of the children grow and change. This program is designed to help those children who are potty training or still need support with bathroom issues.

Our son has been attending MLMS for a year now and he will be starting his second year there in the Fall. We love the teachers and close-knit community at MLMS. They have been very welcoming and responsive to all of our comments and questions. The school grounds are well maintained and the school building is a perfect environment for little ones. We thoroughly recommended MLMS and its staff.
