First Visit: Before we decide which treatment is right for you, we need to find out IF treatment is right for you. Your first visit will focus on discovering and explaining your unique set of needs. Greater Smiles for Children: The majority of orthodontic treatment can occur during childhood. Check out our list of common problems and typical solutions.
Your initial appointment will be an exam and consultation appointment with one of the doctors to evaluate your orthodontic needs. Dr. Perelmuter or Dr. Glatt will do a very thorough evaluation of your teeth, bite and smile. In most cases, we will take diagnostic radiographs, photographs. This will allow us to decide if orthodontic treatment would be of benefit.
An orthodontic exam by age seven is recommended by the American Association of Orthodontists. We agree that when the permanent teeth begin coming into the mouth, the time for the first consultation is near. The majority of kids are not ready for treatment yet, but the consultation can set them on the right track for orthodontic health.
More and more adults are seeking orthodontic treatment for a variety of reasons - from cosmetic improvement to treatment of bite and jaw disorders. With 50% of our practice concentrated in the treatment of adult patients, we understand well how the techniques and challenges of adult orthodontics differ from orthodontics for children.
Fixed orthodontic appliances (braces) have been used for over 100 years. They have proven to be very effective in aligning teeth, and advances in technology have made braces more efficient, cosmetic and comfortable. Ceramic brackets are the esthetic version of conventional braces. The brackets are made of a strong, translucent toothcolored ceramic material which blends in with the teeth.

Just a note to let you know how helpful Gabby has been in helping me with my Invisaligns. At both of my visits she has answered all my questions and offered suggestions, making me feel very a ease as a 77 year old with first time braces! I appreciate her friendly and profession demeanor. As an adult patient, I was very hesitant about beginning the orthodontic process- however Dr. Brian Glatt was very patient and understanding, thoroughly explaining the process from start to finish multiple times during my journey with orthodontics. Was very knowledgeable and always willing to answer extra questions/concerns I had; plus was ahead of schedule! Nice bonus. My teeth have never looked better and I have never been more confidant about my smile. 10/10 recommend seeing Dr. Glatt.
