Dr. Carol Summe has been in the exclusive practice of orthodontics in Louisville, Kentucky for over 30 years. She received her undergraduate education from Xavier University in Cincinnati and then attended the University of Louisville Dental School, where she graduated at the top of her class.
After graduation, Dr. Summe completed a two-year residency in orthodontics at the University of Louisville which completed the requirements established by the American Dental Association to become certified as a Specialist in Orthodontics.Dr. Summe attends numerous orthodontic education programs every year to be able to provide state-of-the-art orthodontic treatment for her patients and to remain at the forefront of contemporary orthodontics.

We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. Your complimentary initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This important 30-minute visit will give us insight into your orthodontic needs. We know your time is valuable, so to expedite treatment, we may also reserve time following the exam for diagnostic records.

Dr. Summe, her Technicians and the people who run the office are the nicest people EVER. They provided Orthodontic work for both of my children and myself.
They made me very comfortable as a mature adult that needed InvisAlign and were very thorough. Apparently, I was a challenging case and they totally restructured my teeth. I'm very grateful for their professionalism, attention to detail, and culture of the office.
I highly recommend them!

Dr. Summe has been our orthodontist for all 3 of my children. Her staff is the best and you feel welcome and comfortable in her office. It is always simple to schedule an appointment and they handle changes and cancellations with ease. Aftercare, once the braces are removed, is very thorough and the care remains the same! The best! Highly recommend!

I just had my braces removed after having them on for about 25 months. Dr. Summe and her staff were wonderful from beginning to the end of my experience. They were very supportive of an adult getting braces for the first time. Even through COVID-19 restrictions, they had a positive and encouraging attitude. I went to Dr. Summe because she put braces on my children and their teeth still look great in their late 20s. She was also very good to them.

Just started my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Summe. While I am writing this review before my results are in, everything before this experience has been incredible. Staff is unbelievable friendly and warm, they answer every question I could have, talk me through things and explain WHY they are doing what they’re doing.

This place is the most wonderful place to have your teeth straightened. They made so many efforts to help us navigate the appointments, even when we moved out of town. Dr. Summe and her team are warm and friendly and patient in a way you don't experience in many professional medical places. I will forever be grateful that our search for an orthodontist led us to her! My kids both have amazing smiles now and they are on their way! Just go - you won't regret it!

This was my second time around as a client of Summe Orthodonics, after not wearing my retainer after the first time around. I am so happy I chose to go back and get my Invisalign through Carol and her team and had a great experience. They greet you with smiles, are knowledgable and are completely transparent regarding procedures and costs, making everything as easy and comfortable as possible. I went to MANY different orthos in the Louisville area for consultations before getting started about 2 years ago. As a 29 year old at the time in consulting, I was very self-conscious with my smile and needed it fixed. After talking with Dr. Summe and her staff, I knew this is where I wanted to get my braces done.

If you or someone you know needs braces, I highly recommend you visit Dr. Summe! As an adult wanting a better smile, I was somewhat anxious about getting braces, but my fears quickly vanished. I always received excellent service from the most friendly and caring people in the world. Shout out to Dr. Summe, Andrea, Christy, Diane, and the rest of the team! The staff is so professional and pleasant, and the office is beautiful with plenty of parking. The best part is my journey has come to an end faster than I imagined, and I now have a beautiful smile!
