Although more than 60% of the population has curly, coily, or wavy hair, only a small fraction of stylists are trained to work with texture. Over the years in the industry, I have met many people with curly hair that have stories upon stories of bad experiences having their hair cut, colored, or even bad advice on hair products.
It is this combination of skill and passion that distinguishes my skills from the norm and makes me an in-demand color expert. I've cultivated the innate ability to recognize even the most minuscule detail in the undertones of my client's skin, and eye color. I love to customize the proper color mixture and application to create the exact look each client desires, in a way that compliments their individual complexion.

The salon sits in a great spot downtown, and the view of the Penobscot from the back window is superb. The salon is pretty, and the shampoo sink and cutting chair are comfortable. Kim is friendly and helpful. I have curly hair and am only recently embracing it instead of straightening. Kim is knowledgeable about the chemistry of hair and gave me tips about pH balance, moisturizing, and avoiding gimicky marketing ploys. I may look for a salon specifically focused on curls still, because I need more help with methods and cut, but I was happy with Kim's cut, and the price of $25 just can&apos
