Services
We believe a one-size-fits-all approach is outdated and inefficient because our customers have needs that constantly fluctuate. Backed by five decades of experience and a history rooted in family, we are known for our unwavering commitment to safety, dedication to exceeding customer expectations, and meeting deadlines.
Ritter started as a family business more than 50 years ago. John W. Ritter started the company in 1964 with only a few trucks. Now, five decades later, Ritter is a third-generation, family owned company with more than 100 power units. Ritter has always been dedicated to meeting deadlines and providing unsurpassed customer service.
Ritter offers value-added transportation services that are tailored to the specific needs of the customer. Before every job, we have a discussion with the customer, not just to see what needs to be where and when, but to hear the ultimate goals and ideal circumstances. It is important to us that learn the delivery routines, concerns, and special requests of our customers.
Ritter wanted to brand all three divisions of the company as one in order to showcase the strength and integrity of the Ritter name. To do this, we looked to the family name for inspiration; Ritter is a German name and translates to knight. In chess, the knight's strength and flexibility allow it to make strategic moves across the board.
Since they were young, Matt and Michael Ritter have dedicated themselves to the success and continual growth of Ritter. As kids, they would help around the shop by cleaning or assisting wherever they could. They began fueling, inspecting, and servicing vehicles as teenagers. At 21, they were honored to obtain their Commercial Drivers Licenses so they could be drivers, which is one of the most important groups in the company.

If someone sits in a job interview and tells you they quit a job because they wouldn’t give her a stereo, wouldn’t you think they will quit if you are not honest about routes, equipment.....pay? I left the first time they didn’t pay me. They do not have dedicated northeast drop and hook, out and back. The trucks? Well, I HAVE NEVER!!! Will leave it at that. I felt really bad for my dispatcher because she was not at all responsible for the company’s problems, but she was my primary contact point.
