Very poor build quality. Also at the design studio, literally everything was discontinued and we didn't get to pick anything except cabinets. Workers drink on the job. (We have pictures) Most walls or anything that would be 90 degrees is not 90 degrees. Paint all over the cabinets and windows. Dips in the concrete you feel under the carpet. When block was laid, there was alot of poorly seal blocks with vapor leaks.
Bathroom tiles are very poorly done, alot of uneven and sticking out tiles. Grout in shower very pitted and poorly done. They installed an undersized air handler. Irrigation is plummed

We are currently in the process of building a home through Highland Homes and the process has been awful. We have been giving all kinds of time periods and nobody knows anything. It appears the water gutter out by the street needs to be replaced/smoothed over by the City/County before anything else can be done. You would think these type of details would be worked out before the house is built, but it wasn’t and it appears to be bad planning. We wouldn’t recommend Highland Homes to anybody and based on some of these reviews, we are worried on how these homes are built. Cant wait to hear our

I wish I was writing a positive review. Unfortunately, that was not the case for us. I'm not sure why they promote working with VA home loans. We worked with Stephanie at the Aviary at Rutland Ranch. She knew from the beginning we were going to be using a VA home loan which we already had our pre approval. When we finally made the decision to move forward with a floor plan she convinced us it was better to use their lender. We did so and they would not approve us. Yet, we were able to without any problem with the VA. Long story short, they wanted us to pay all buyer AND seller fees, closing costs

Was excited about prospect of building home with them loved floor plan. Went to there preferred lender and that is where issues started. Impression I got was that then did not understand there own job. It got to point they told me I calculated my salary incorrectly when I showed them offer from Publix, with pay stubs. To point them would not approve me for loan. Then one of sales people gets condescending with me like I am child. I have owned a house for 20 years payed my bills on time and raising a daughter and you are going to be condescending?
Now I go to different lender with same info and

My toilet sit was broken when I moved in and it took 2 weeks to get a new one, my tile started peeling out in the master batroom withing a week. My garage door doesn't close (continuing to think is blocked but is not). My grass is dead and they won't replace because they did a half job on the sprinklers. They didn't instal one to save money and time, it took 4 weeks for them to install the sprinkler that was missing. Front door is not shut down properly so bugs crawl into the house. Garage door is very har to close (not aligned propery). My plants in front of the house weren&apos

Every time I cut my lawn, I'm reminded of the poor job Highland Homes did installing it. Much of the lawn is beautiful as it was installed properly, and I have taken good care of it. However, large sections of the lawn were not installed properly. During my attempts to fix these sections, I found rocks and construction debris, including foundation sand and cinderblock pieces, form stakes, plastic wrap, and even a spray paint can buried near the surface of the lawn that prevented sod growth.

I also have the opportunity to reflect upon the fact that HH missed several opportunities to

The staff is professional and nice, no complaints there. HOWEVER, they are like many other mass production home builders, quick built, lazy construction, and after 10 years in my house while my 5 year was in the showers I hear a screaming and crying and this is what I come across. When I contacted someone about the issue they said it met code standards and they use the right materials... oh by the way this happened about 7 years after the house was built and I have yet to be able to afford to get my shower fixed. I now tell everyone of my experience because it was a disappointment and the response

My husband is an 8-year paramedic and Highland Homes is in the process of building income restricted townhomes, for families with an income no higher than $52,000 a year. At first everything seemed like such a great opportunity, "too good to be true." We started our approval process and everyone seemed so nice and helpful, especially Jennifer who works for Highland Homes. I without any hesitation gave them whatever information needed to qualify for this process. During our approval process, we were told that we qualified so we went ahead and put down the required $500 deposit, while patiently

I am having a new Riverton Floor Plan home built by Highland Homes in the Fairway Oaks subdivision of Imperial Lakes located in Mulberry Florida.

I will be completing my review of Highland Homes once they are completely finished with the house. So far the process has been frustratingly slow. I'm hoping the pace picks up now that construction has begun though.

I'll also be doing a complete blog on Highland Homes VS KB Homes. I am in the unique position to compare the two companies and their process and product as I had KB build my last home 4 years ago.

I will post a link to the blog
