The practice changed ownership and transitioned to its new name, Happy Tales Veterinary Hospital. Veterinarian, Charles Yurkon, DVM, and his wife, Jennifer Yurkon will oversee Happy Tales Veterinary Hospital as its new owners, with a goal of providing high-quality, compassionate care. Veterinarians John Jones, DVM, and Gretchen Muhonen, DVM, as well as the committed and patient-centered staff round out the team at Happy Tales.
We offer a variety of vaccinations for your pet depending on their species, breed and life style. We have a full comprehensive laboratory station to get you results on your pet within minutes. Current and advance techniques, up to date medical team and equipment to better service your pet's needs. Did you know 80% of dogs and 70% of cats by the age of 3 years have a form of periodontal disease.

Dr. Charles Yurkon has been in veterinary medicine for over 20 years. He grew up on the North East side of Pennsylvania in Dallas, PA. He has a Master's in Toxicology and Master's in Business from Colorado State University. He is a graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
If you are concerned about wild baby animal you've come across, please contact one of the organizations below. Remember - mom is usually out foraging and may not be at the nest at all times. Never handle the babies, as your good intentions may cause the mother to not return.

Nothing but great things about Happy Tales… I’ve never met a team of more compassionate doctors, who truly care for the health of your animal. Whenever I need them, they’re super quick to see my sweet Phoenix and get her feeling better. They always go over the procedures and diagnostics so you know exactly what’s going on with your pet. Dr. Yurkon did a spay and gastropexy on my German Shepherd, and the incision healed so clean that you could barely tell it was even there. He takes great care of my girl! Best place to go for your pets medical needs!

Took my rabbit Oberon here a while ago and thought he was a male after taking Oberon to a different vet we found out that they never checked the genitals and he was really a she. I thought it would be mandatory to check the genitals of the rabbits. They were still a decent vet but its not the place for me.

I had to put my 15 year old lab to rest - it’s a decision that no one wants to make. But every one there was so kind and made me feel at ease. Dr. Lawson and Katie were wonderful. They were very informative and compassionate. When I made the appointment, Tracy was very kind and got me in right away. You have a wonderful staff! I will be taking my other dog to Happy Tales from now on.

The staff here are the best! I've taken my pups here for a few years now and I wouldn't take them anywhere else! Any time my dogs get sick, they squeeze me in even when they're really busy. Prices are reasonable and both Dr. Yurkon and Dr. Mahonen are excellent. They really take time to explain things clearly and make sure to answer all of your questions and are so great with your pet family members. They get down to their level to make them feel more comfortable. The front desk and technicians are fantastic as well, everyone is super friendly and they make you and your pets feel like family.
