Dr. Darren Brown graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2004. Licensed and trained in the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents, Dr. Brown is certified by the National Board of Optometry in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease.
A clinical investigator who has conducted research for Vistakon and Advanced Medical Optics, Dr. Brown specializes in fitting an array of contact lenses, including orthokeratology, hybrid, and scleral contact lens fits.Having assisted in LASIK procedures at top surgical centers in the Western United States, Dr. Brown offers his patients their most up-to-date refractive surgical options.

I broke my glasses and the heroes at Old Town Tustin Eyecare came to my rescue! I called them up to see if they could help me out and they had me come in right away - and even though my frames were a total pain to work with, they got the job done and were wonderful and welcoming the whole time. I am so appreciative of your team - what a great group!

This place is amazing! The location is beautiful, the staff is so welcoming and warm and patient. They were able to help me day of, with adjusting my glasses that didn't fit, I came in as a new patient and they helped me with glasses from a different drs office without hesitation. I will definitely be transferring my care to this facility. I felt at ease, as if I have been going there for years, which I plan on doing now that I've found them!

This practice is big on patient safety especially during COVID-19, it give you great piece of mind. Staff is nice and the facility offers a wide array of frame options, so glasses wearers your covered. My prescription wasn't spot on the first time but when I called them for a follow up, they scheduled me and I was able to address my concerns.

Words can't express how much we love this place! First class all the way! I'm a tough fit for glasses and looked at all the other corporate retail eye centers with no luck. I set my appointment and Mr Dr. Brown too extra care and time with me and never before have I seen such professionalism and care. Darrel fires me and worked my insurance flawlessly and worked within my budget! The entire front office is 100% first class. I love my new glasses!

Fantastic experience! This is a very professional group. The office staff is very courteous, knowledgeable and helpful, they don't miss a beat with scheduling, notifications or insurance. Dr. Brown (Susan) was excellent. She was extremely patient with my very detailed descriptions of my eyes and vision status, and my special needs for my computer work station set up.
Their frames shop is top notch and has a great variety of styles.

This place is awesome! I brought in a pair of eyeglasses that I bought somewhere else, and had stepped on accidentally. They were able to quickly reshape them without having to order any new parts and without charging me anything. I am very appreciative, because I really didn't want to have to buy new glasses or replacement parts. They were super friendly, and had great customer service. I will definitely be coming back for my next eye exam to this spot.

They really try to up sell every product. It became very annoying and I was extremely turned off. They also mentioned a rebate that we would get but they failed to mention that it must be within 90 days of the exam. They only mentioned it when I picked up the lenses. One employee tells me we would get a rebate the next tells me I am too late. They don't seem to be on the same page. If you want to save yourself a headache do not come to old town Tustin eye care.

So I came in here because a great friend referred us. And she did not disappoint! EXCEPT for one issue.....the management.
I'm giving this place 4 stars because of how HORRIBLE their manager was when I brought my dad in.
I got my glasses here and they're amazing. Sara and Erika were the nicest gals and helped me SO much and were awesome and their professionalism was top notch, THANK YOU!
I brought my family in because of MY experience but now I'm here for my dad, holy crap!

I have been seeing Dr. Brown for about 10 years since his office was located near UCI. I wear hard contact lenses, and Dr. Brown is thorough with each annual visit about seeing if there are any improvements in terms of fitting comfort as well as lens strength that he can incorporate into his contact lens prescription. He also keeps up with the latest in technology and has provided me more experimental contact lens to try out in the past. Other than being a trusted professional, Dr. Brown is one of the nicest people you will meet who truly cares about the eyesight of his patients. He is always patient

Hands down the best service I've ever received from an optometrist/glasses store. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and welcoming. I could tell that Dr. Coloma had my best interests when it came to working with my glasses rx & the type of contacts I used to make sure the overall health of my eyes would continue to be fine.

Brown has been my optometrist since his days in Irvine. Since then, he has moved his office to Tustin. He always writes little notes about me after every appointment, it's a nice personal touch. It's nice that he remembers what happened during our last appointment even if it was over a year ago.
I do like the fact that he is on the younger side and is up to date with technology and news within his field.
My only complaint is they hire a third party to call me to remind me about my yearly check up. This can get tedious. They will call you again after you miss the call the first time

I've been going here for three years now, and I've been happy with my experience every time. The exam is quick and painless and the staff is helpful when picking out glasses/contacts. They have my vision plan benefit description ready so I know what is covered and what I am paying for. I couldn't imagine a customer experience being any better elsewhere.

I have known Dr. Brown for many years and have followed him from Irvine to Tustin. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, kind and gentle. Dr. Brown has the skill of explaining things in a way a lay person can understand. In addition, he does not diagnose what is not there. He is honest, yet thorough and I trust his diagnosis and clinical recommendations 100 percent.

Dr. Brown has been my eye doctor for the past several years and my care and dealings with the office staff have been nothing short of exceptional. My previous eye doctor and his office were fine, as have been all of the offices I have visited since I was a child (lots of poor vision in my family), but every aspect of my visits to this office and with Dr. Brown have been consistently 5-star.

Absolutely love Old Town Tustin Eye Care!! Dr. Darren Brown has been my optometrist for all of my eye care needs. I have actually gone to Dr. Brown for the past 9 years since he was at the Irvine office and moved over in Tustin. He is the best optometrist there is because he really cares about his patients and very passionate about his work. He is very detail oriented, knowledgeable, honest, personable, patient, and give the best care possible. Especially since my prescription is really high (I've been nearsighted since I was in kindergarten and only has gotten dramatically worse in high school

I have been going to Old Town Tustin Eye Care for a few years, and the staff is consistently professional and accommodating. They take great care of my eyes, have a clean and inviting office and carry a great selection of glasses/frames. However, the reason I return is because the staff and doctors genuinely care for me and my family. You can never underestimate the power of making someone feel valued.
