Dr. Myers Reads Mayoral Proclamation of August as National Children's Vision and Learning Month. Since approximately age 20, I have experienced eye fatigue, blurring, and eventually double vision when reading. Within 3 weeks of beginning vision therapy, I began to notice improvement. By 8 weeks, I could read for 30-40 minutes without strain.

By the end of therapy, I can read 45-60 minutes without strain. Most amazingly, when my vision begins to blur, I can make my eyes re-focus and I see the print clearly. I had no idea I could influence my vision. Prior to vision therapy, anything related to schoolwork made our house very stressed. We tried tutoring through summers, Neurofeedback, medication for ADD/ADHD.
Services
Indiana Vision Development Center, PC is one of the leading visual development and rehabilitation specialty practices in the Nation. Dr. Myers, along with our vision therapists and staff, is dedicated to providing the help for our patients to allow them to acquire improved visual abilities.

We take pride in offering individualized optometric vision therapy and applying the principles of neuroscience to help our patients achieve better vision, improved academic abilities and eye-body coordination skills. As a result of these improvements, our patients are empowered to lead more productive lives and to have greater confidence.
Good Vision is much more than just having 20/20 eyesight! Just because a person can identify letters from twenty feet away, does not mean they can control their eyes with the accuracy, agility and efficiency required for most everyday challenges. The majority of our work, both in school and in the workplace, requires visual performance at near (15 to 17 inches).
This vision test will help you determine if a vision condition is affecting you or your child's quality of life. Please mark the symptoms that occur and use the scoring criteria which will automatically calculate at the bottom of the page to determine if a functional vision evaluation is recommended.
Early detection is critical when it comes to vision problems, yet parents and teachers often have difficulty determining that a child has vision problems that can be treated with Vision Therapy. That's because children have difficulty describing what they are seeing and not seeing.

In fact, a child may pass a vision exam with "20/20 eyesight" and yet have significant vision problems that can affect his ability to succeed in school, work and social settings.Vision therapy, also known as vision training, or visual therapy, is a group of personalized techniques directed at correcting and bettering visual-motor and perceptual disorders.
Visual-motor difficulties such as problems with eye-tracking or coordination may be preventing your child from doing their best in school. Fortunately, both of these vision problems can often be corrected using Vision Therapy. Dr. Carl Myers of the Indiana Vision Development Center is an expert in Vision Therapy and can help your child correct lazy eye and other visual-motor deficiencies without surgery.

Dr Myers was recommended to us for my son. He made my 7 yr old cry during the exam and accused him of lying. We left the exam prematurely. It was a horrible experience. The receptionist was wonderful but Dr Myers had a terrible bedside manor and handled the incident very immaturely.

We are seeing the difference the therapy is making in our daughter's life. Her coordination is getting better between her eyes and some of the other issues are getting better after only a few months. The therapist has been patient even on difficult days, Dr. Meyers works very well with her, and the office staff has gone out of their way to help us understand everything and work with us on financial matters. We are so glad we found them and had an alternative to surgery.
