Kristy Mara is simply the best. I am so grateful she was my attorney. During the painful process of divorce she gave me extremely wise counsel and expert knowledge of divorce law in Minnesota. She has business and financial acumen and is willing to bring in other experts when necessary. Kristy is a good listener, empathetic and compassionate, but always focused on the end goal of achieving the best settlement in a reasonable amount of time. She clearly laid out options, possible scenarios, and the related expenses that helped me make decisions to move the process forward and produce a good end

I completely agree with the other Google reviews of this firm. Ms. Mara (and most likely her partner, Ms. Honsa) do not see themselves as assisting the client of seeking a resolution, they are focused solely on billing. They frankly argue with you, the client, more than they do with the opposition. There is no compassion, understanding, client care or anything of that sort here. It's literally just "pay up, or else". There are many other attorneys that have an interest in doing the best than can for you as a client. It's not this firm whatsoever. Look elsewhere for honest and committed assistance

No one ever plans to get divorced and no one can ever be ready for what it unveils. That is why you need the best representation. Kristy Mara and her associates are the best at what they do. It is way beyond knowing the exact protocol along with the latest laws that impact those proceedings – it’s their ability to walk the fine line between emotions and business. I was constantly dazzled by Kristy’s ability to coach on how to balance what both my head and heart needed to give to the divorce. She was able to honor emotions but not let them lead to unproductive communications or results.

I initially hired a junior attorney at a different firm. That person was slow to respond to my case and I wasn't confident in the legal advice he was giving me. I made the decision to switch lawyers and hire Kristy at Honsa Mara Landry. It was a night and day difference. Kristy is a pro and she answered all my questions swiftly and confidently. She knows the system well and gave me advice that I believe was in the best interest for me. Because of her ethics and knowledge, I highly recommend Kristy as an attorney.

Ann Honsa swindled us into hiring her firm. After years of prodding and arguing with the court and coating me thousands, Anne recommended we agree to joint custody, which gave up all of our power and position. We had no idea what we were doing and she led us astray; I can’t caution anyone enough against hiring her. Our new lawyer and the opposing counsel regularly ridiculed her sloppiness in Anoka county court in front of the judge for her confusing arguments, unfounded claims, and just not making any logical conclusions. Even the judge slapped her down (metaphorically speaking) for proposing

Hired Anne Honsa for my divorce in 1983. She forced me to settle just prior to 10 years of marriage (by 9 or 10 days) saying Social Security would not be around when I was ready to file and if we didn't file would be said we were dragging our feet. Well guess what Social Security IS still here. I got screwed out of collecting on my ex husband's since he is older than I. So I am now forced to work past my retirement age. Thanks a lot Anne! You were expensive and cost me a lot of money in the end. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Very snooty, uppity attorney owners and "legend" Ann Honsa herself who ONLY take high asset cases, at least according to Kristy A.K. Rodd. These are the types of attorneys who think that you work for them as you're paying them $600 per hour. Avoid this law firm at all costs. There are better and more affordable attorneys out there who can do better and without being so incredibly stuck up.

I HIGHLY recommend Anne Honsa, she is hands down the best. She is extremely professional and knowledgeable. She covered topics in my final decree that I hadn't even considered. This has saved me time and money, and alleviated the need for additional mediation or court time down the road. Her rate is high but she is worth every penny.

Law firm failed to recognize the difference between Hennepin County, and Dakota County. When notified, Atty Kanne was very quick to simply state "she wasn't my attorney" and denied any wrong-doing. Dakota County did eventually set the firm straight with the details. I've been diplomatic with the firm, I'm not lowering myself to their unprofessional level. The firm has been sloppy with responding to email, resulting in a waste of my time, and cost me in the end. I've never known a legal or any professional to send correspondence in a 16pt red font either.
