I have mixed thoughts about this place. They seem very honest and they have high prices for consignments. They do a great checkup job before they co-sign. They are on top of their stuff. They have you pay up front 195 for inspection and smog. I was inside for 3 minutes and heard a high level elderly employee talk down and demeaning to a Hispanic man that didn't speak much English. He then proceeded to make a sexist degrading comment about a woman driving in the lot. One of the other employees made a comment about how tired of his sexism they were. Wow. I like this place a lot but

I love my new car from McCarthy’s! Lisa helped me test drive their incredible collection of cars. I went one day to check out their inventory which is the best on the Central Coast and got a few possible ones to buy, then came back the next day to drive them. Lisa gave me all the information and insight into the cars they had. No pressure at all but answered all my questions and help me evaluate. I sat down with her and looked at the pros and cons. Absolutely LOVED our experience with McCarthy's. Our dealer, Jimi, absolutely killed it. I bought a Honda van off their lot. They had three Honda Odysseys available for my inspection. They allowed us to drive each one of them and there was no pressure from the salesman who helped us! They are a "used car" lot and not a dealer lot so they have many nice cars of all makes so the choices are many if you don't know exactly what make and model of car you are looking for. You can drive several to help make up your mind as to what you want. The paperwork was quick and easy so the entire purchase was a breeze and i left a happy customer with my "new" van

The General Manager is so rude and condescending. He actually hung up on me while laughing. In my opinion, he has no regard for women. I asked a male friend to call and talk with him and he was completely different with him, joking, respectful. Don't buy a car from these people. Also, please do your research because they overprice the cars.

My son & I went to McCarthy's to look at a car we saw on their website. We met Jimi. He was really friendly & welcoming, knowledgeable & helpful. He knew the exact car we were talking about. We took it for a long test drive. He really worked with us on the price. He didn't pressure us or anything. He got to know my son's needs and did everything possible to get the best deal for us. I'll go back there when I need a car!

Bought a GMC Truck from McCarthy's right before Christmas. Second car I've bought from them and another great experience. I worked with Josh to buy my truck and he was very helpful explaining the different truck options they had available. Easy to work and was accommodating to me showing up a little late two days in a row around the holidays.

I believe they have good reviews because the sales staff is so nice. They are. However I bought a car here after being told about the "39point inspection" or something like that, ignored my better judgement and didn't take it to my own mechanic first. If they had done any kind of inspection they would have known the car was falling apart, and I have had nothing but repairs and check engine codes since I bought it starting with replacing the transmission less than one month after purchase. This morning I am stuck and late for work because of an apparent electrical problem. I
