Murray Hotel Livingston
Each accommodation has its own bathroom, modern heating/cooling amenities, and access to the hotel's WiFi network. Suites have more space, the majority having a sitting area for relaxing and a kitchenette for sharing a coffee in the morning or some wine at night.

We take great pride in the decor which focuses on providing warmth and comfort for those who stay here but still maintains a nod to Livingston's heydays of the easy-going cowboys in the Wild Wild West. Our varied Queen Suites have all been expertly designed and decorated to provide the most comfort and quality for our guests.

Super cute dog friendly place. They provide earplugs for a reason. Not great for lite sleepers or dogs that may react to hearing the voices of strangers sound like they are in the room with you as they pass by your room or on the street.

If you like places that are a bit creepy, but also whimsical and classic, this is the hotel for you! The Murray is usually well out of my price range (often exceeding $300-400/night in the summer), but I found a room with two beds in November for less than $200, so jumped at the chance to stay with them! Our room turned out to be a two bed suite that was obviously two rooms at one point in the past. There was a sitting room with a wet bar and a bedroom with two plush beds and a connecting bathroom. The beds were so comfy! The TV had a steaming device so we could log in with our Netflix account

Possibly the best hotel of the 30+ we've stayed at this year. It is the only hotel in town, so it could take advantage of this fact by giving subpar service or price gouging. Instead it is extremely well priced and goes what I'd consider above and beyond. The rooms are essentially one bedroom apartments with classy and antique decor. The room was impeccably clean and neat. Everything you could possibly need is provided - beyond basic amenities, they also have earplugs, razor, shower caps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, glass and plastic cups, and ample towels. Soaps all smelled good and the shower

Old Historic Hotel with an Airbnb feel. Our 3rd floor suite was clean and had all the comforts of home right down to earplugs, comfy bed, great linens, and extra toothbrushes. Nothing modern about this property but the Keurig machine in the lobby. Just perfect. Would absolutely stay here again when in Livingston.

We have stayed at The Murray twice and loved it both times! The rooms are beautifully decorated and the hotel itself is beautifully restored with original features, including the elevator. Full-size bathroom amenities are included and other amenities that you wouldn't think of are thoughtfully placed in the rooms. I love the rooftop area; perfect place for morning coffee or to enjoy a bottle of wine in the evening. The bar is amazing and the stone fired pizza is outstanding!Zoe at the front desk has always provided exceptional service! The ONLY downside to this hotel is that the train runs right

The hotel restaurant is closed and the bar is only open four days a week. Though the lobby has historic memorabilia, there’s no way to sit and enjoy it. Eating in a historic restaurant or drinking in a historic bar might have conveyed the feeling, but there was no historic vibe. Just the vibe of a hotel that is closed but just hasn’t told anyone.

Classic Old hotel. Clean, comfortable and quiet, that's all I ask. Parking is not as bad as advertised, although, we were there in the middle of the week. Nice city, Livingston, we'll go back.

Had a lovely stay here on a Saturday night 06/05. We made our reservation 24 hours in advance and got lucky to get a "same day" discount of $100. We ended up only paying $195 including tax. What a deal!!! It's a risk though since we got the last room in the hotel.

The hotel is historical and has a cool neon sign. They also have a staff operated old OTIS elevator( over 115 years old). We arrived late at 10:00pm and the staff was very accomodating, we had notified them in advance that we will be checking in late.

There is a bar adjacent to the hotel that has an entrance from the

The Murray values it’s clientele by communicating frequently before arrival. So we were not surprised by no-breakfast due to personnel shortage. They made up for this small inconvenience by giving super service. They say it was just a coincidence but they gave us the Sam Peckinpah suite with two bedrooms, 2 baths, a huge living room and full kitchen all decorated in beautiful Western antiques but updated. What a treat!
A stay here is a visit to history but modern conveniences are included. The many plush live plants alone are worth a visit. The best thing, of course, is the people here. So helpful

Super cool experience if you like old stuff. It felt like it might be a little loud if we had gone during a busier time. That doesn’t bother me, but it’s something to consider if it does you. Hard floors were everywhere! But, it’s worth the experience & the staff is just amazing. Take an extra moment to figure out a fire escape route in a building like this. Kudos to those who’ve done the design and renovations necessary to get the accommodations - like everything in the bathrooms - up to snuff. I’d definitely stay here again.

I grew up in Livingston but hadn't been back for 20 years. Stayed at the Murray for 2 nights. We had the grand master suite. It was very comfortable and beautifully decorated as was the entire hotel. I liked going down the stairs so I could check out the other floors as all the decor is unique. Lots of charm and history here. Staff was very nice. Loved hearing the train rumble through town again so definitely didn't need the earplugs. Fantastic location everything is within walking distance and we were able to get coffee and have some good dinners or a couple beers without worrying about

Avoid this place if you want a clean room. Paid $250 for a room with a queen bed and pull out couch. Bathroom floor had a ton of dark hairs all over the place-- the floor had not been washed/swept. Toilet not clean. The floor of the bedroom also had not been swept/vacuumed and was filthy. Pull out couch had dirty sheets on it. Requested clean sheets and pillows from front desk. Front desk claimed they had run out of pillows so we had no pillows for the sofa bed. This place is historic but it is also filthy. Stay elsewhere in town for a fraction of the price if you want a clean, quiet room. It&apos

What a great find.the hotel is clean and elaborate. The adjoining restaurant is great with a happening bar and live music.

This place is so clean, spacious and loaded with amenities I feel I should plan a trip back to area just to stay here again.

Love the historical charm. I had a great night sleep despite the passing train. My husband however could not sleep all night. He claimed to hear strange unexplainable sounds. We did a search in the morning of the hotel's history and came to find out that his experiences was not unique. We stayed in room 305.

Absolutely a great place to say. They managed to keep the history of the hotel and town, while giving a great comfortable place with amenities.

Rooms are comfortable while historic, great decor, great bed, great everything.

Other hotels could learn a thing or two from the Murray.

Absolutely unbelievable, and perfect from top to bottom. Wow.

This historic Grand Dame of Livingston is an incredible gem.

We had a two bedroom suite. The bathroom is not posh, but it is updated and nice. The furniture, the uneven wood floors, the noisy trains, the downstairs honky tonk, the crazy old hand crank elevator operated only by staff, the thread bare lobby! The dark doors with hand painted numbers and transoms. All fantastic.

But its about the ghosts of the past, the famous stars, the celebrtiy directors that have stayed here that add a patina to the aura of this place. Its hard to descriobe, but the air here, the fresh clean air still holds the
