No interferences from over 20 interfering substances including maltose, oxygen, octagam, icodextrin, IV solutions, ascorbic acid, aspirin and bilirubin. The accuracy of the microdot System was determined in an independent third party UK study by comparing the results from 102 lay diabetics using the system with those obtained using a YSI Model 2300 Glucose Analyser.
Each microdot strip contains the enzyme glucose dehydrogenase (Bacillus Sp.) = 1 IU and other ingredients (mediator, NAD, lysing agents etc.) = 200 g. When blood is added to the microdot strip, the chemicals within the strip react to create a tiny electrical current. Your meter reads the current and displays your level of blood glucose.
They allow you to check that the meter and test strips are working correctly and that you are testing correctly. You should do control solution tests routinely to check that you are getting accurate results. A test with a microdot Control Solution is like a blood test except that you use a Control Solution instead of blood.
